Best way to sent huge files across country?

i was visiting my friend in CO and we filmed a bunch with his high def go pro (which was sick), but due to his shitty moment skis breaking again we couldn't get enough shots of him on my last day out there. he ended up getting a bunch of shots the next weekend.

so i have 1/2 the shots on my computer and he has the other half in CO. neither of us have enough to make an edit. he was thinking of putting them on CDs and mailing them. is that the best way to do it?

nah i suggest turning them into a zip or rar file and putting them on mediafire or rapidshare or another file hosting website. dont want your shots gettin lost in the post. and if you are worried about other people downloading it aswell and using your shots just put a password on the file that only you and your mate knows

He could probably go to staples or any store really and pick up some really cheap flash drives then just ship those. (would probably be as cheap as CD's but would work better) If he wants to go the electronic route, then yea, compress them all into a zip file, upload to a hosting site like megaupload or zshare or something then send you the link. The second option might be kinda hard though if he has a bad connection and depending on how big the files are he might have to upload them in parts. i think its like 500mb limit for alot of those sites unless hes a member.

Any time I send a file to someone, I compress the file, then you can send it via AIM or Ichat, this is really easy. Drag and drop the file into the convo with the person you want to send it to, then they just click on it and it will begin the download. Some can take a while, but its better than paying to send via large file sender. ps make sure you stay online with the person until they get the entire file
