Yo guys, I got a load of footage from this season that needs to be put together into an edit. Can anyone give me tips on the best effects to use(if any) and more specifically the zoom effect, i've got quite a lot of clips which would look a lot better zoomed in a bit. Is there a way were I can just zoom in a tiny bit without it continuing to zoom? I've got a clip with a finger in shot, I wanna zoom through this ideally
I know this is a lot but if there's any other tips for putting together a good edit I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks again.
alright, to scale in a shot (zoom) and leave it that way
you double click the shot if its in the time line or the browser
go to the motion tab
adjust the scale slider to the right to scale in
that's just to make it scale in and stay scaled in. if you want to change the scaling throughout a shot you need to keyframe.
as for cool/good effects, keep it relatively simple.
channel mixer can give some cool colouring effects
levels can make stuff look good too if you can adjust your levels correctly
you can pretty much do the same thing wiht colour corrector 3 way, not an effect, but useful to learn. also if you can get a different colour corrector, like MB colourista, thats very much worth it
the vignette filter's pretty good if you're going for that effect, but for gods sake, DO NOT overdo it. the formula does not equate to : more vignette= more artsy+more unique
other than that, ill use like some of the distortion effects on occassion, but very rarely. if i really need to make those type of effects ill use after effects, final cut isnt very powerful when it comes to effects, and its certainly not very flexible wiht alot of them
as well as match the beats with the end/start of each clip. you want your music to work within the video and act as one and this is definitely a huge start
