Need help improving internet wifi.

I am currently on a wifi network. but for my computer games i need a cable'd hook up which i cannot get. I was suggested to change my wifi channel and set the QOS. could anyone explain to me how to do this? I need it to be for like a 5 year old because i'm computer illiterate, and i have tried google and other websites, they are far too confusing.

I just looked it up and basically you adjust maximum/minimum bandwidth for each computer, in your case it sounds like its being limited and you would want the raise the maximum higher than it is right now.

Now how you do that, no idea.
