Where to ski in Switzerland this summer?

Although not in Switzerland, i would really recommend Les 2 Alpes.  During the summer they have a crazy park, and its easily accessible from Geneva.  If you really want to stay in Switzerland though, saas-fee maintains a good park all year round.

Saas-Fee and Zermatt are not cities, they are little villages. It's pretty useless to have a car there. If you are going with your parents, I would really recommend Zermatt because it's an amazing place even if you're not skiing. The town, the peaks, the glaciers, the views. I'm sure they can spend 4 days there without getting bored. In my opinion Zermatt is one of the most mind-blowing places to visit in Europe.

Now, Zermatt has a pretty decent park in July. Especially the halfpipe is very good, the kickers are less good. They also have some nice rails and boxes, and some really long groomers. Zermatt also has the best snow of all summer ski resorts, due to it's ridiculous altitude (3899m).

I like Saas-Fee less. Especially the town is dead and boring during the summer. They have some really good kickers in the park though. The boxes are in bad shape and the pipe is always crooked.

If it's the first half of July I would REALLY recommend to drive into the Engadin in Switzerland and then continue into Italy to Val Senales. They have the best summer park in Europe, hands down.

I would recommend against Les 2 Alpes. Even though the park is huge, the snow is very very bad compared to Saas-Fee/Zermatt, and it's insanely crowded. It would also make no sense for your parents to drive into this area when they could be seeing Switzerland.

The only camps that I know of that are running in Zermatt and Saas-Fee aren't very good. Do not got to a camp called "Stoked". But the nice thing about these Swiss glaciers, is that there aren't many people riding, it's easy to make friends on the glacier.

How far of a drive is Les 2 Alpes from Geneva? I am visiting friends who live in Geneva in May. And i would love to do some spring skiing while i am there. Also, are they open in May? I know you said they are open in july sometimes places close for a couple months and open up again in the summer...

Yeah glacier 3000 closes May 2nd and doesn't open till the end of October. Not really an option for summer skiing or skiing in May. Les 2 Alpes closes at the end of April. Tignes closes May 2nd.

I think from Geneva you're gonna have a rough time finding a ski resort open in May. Chamonix might be open the first week of May. Zermatt will have 1 chair open with one boring groomer, no park. Engelberg should still be open, but it's kind of far from Geneva and doesn't have a park. And driving all the way to Kaunertal would be a little insane.
