Last minute road trips

Dude are you kidding?? Last minute road trips are the best kind of road trips. Being unprepared just ups the chances of truly epic travel adventures. I once drove 14 hours in one day just to ski mad river glen. I once drove 20hours home from maine(14 hour trip) cause we thought we could go buy lobsters somewhere at the coast. Here's a tip, coastal route 1 is very fuckin windy and slow. We found no lobsters for sale on a sunday(we're fuckin retaahhhhded) but we did have fun checking out a lot of maines coastline.


Here's a fun tip, either fill the car with everything and anything you think you'll have a chance at using. Or don't fucking take anything at all and see what you can come up with on the way.

Headed to Cali for Coachella in a week then Vegas on the way back, should be pretty dope!

Last minute road trip to Montana was awesome. Thought of it and left 3 hours later for Missoula and surprised some friends and partied then road snowbowl the next day  with 18" fresh. So much fun! 

Road trips are the shit. Especially last minute ones. A few summers ago we got in the car and drove from LI to Baltimore. Ate some banging crab cakes, watched the FBI raid the hotel room next to us and went to the Aquarium in the harbor. we walked thru the city and made a point to stop and have a beer at every bar we walked past. Good times.
We road tripped to Mammoth from Tahoe city 2 years ago also. that was good times. There were 7 of us. I rode Mammoth so hung over but I loved every second of it. The drive was sick thru the elevated desert.

surprising far off friends is one of the better aspects of last minute road trips. I like to call em like ten minutes out, act like your home and wish you could make it up to party or ski or whatever. Everyone gets all bummed and hangs up the phone................then BAM your at the door and it's like your jesus or some miracle worker that just made the night.

I was about to go on one to Sun Peaks, organized last night leaving this afternoon. But then my buddy got a speeding ticket yesterday and now his parents are rattled, and aren't letting us use their place anymore, so no more road trip.

Best trip random trip I've done was a spur of the moment trip to Cali to cruse up and down the coast.

yea last spring a friend told me to fly out to denver and road trip home with him. it was like a week in advanced but still super fun.
slept on friends couches, didnt have a place to stay one night, so we call up a girl we met at a hot tub party a few nights before.
drove home in a 86 chevette. great time
