JOSS may suck this year filming wise compared to last year

I have to say I was more stoked on the filmers last year...

Norway lost both Jon Håtveit and Filip Christensen, so now the job is left to Andreas Johanessen (http://vimeo.com/10687735) and Kristoffer Fahlgren (whom I have no idea who is).. Not that they are bad filmers, there's just no way they can match Filla and Jon. They're just not at that JOSS level yet.

Also the filmers for Team America seem a bit odd. Josh Knox I suspect is something Jon set up. Not that he isn't good, we´ve all seen that epic skate edit he made with his brother for example, it's just a tiny bit wierd. Then there's AJ Dakoulas, (and I know I'm going to get torched for this) who isn't THAT good. Not saying he hasn't got talent, but he really is no match for Josh Berman or Tyler Hamlet.

now.... i respect your opinion, and its good to express it. However, if you want your opinion to matter, you need to provide reason.

Personally I'm most stoked about Mike Clarke and Darren Rayners edit. They are actually my pick to win it.

Heres why. JOSS as we all know is about creativity. It needs to be revolutionary. Every filmer there is capable of "getting the shot". However, not every filmer is capable of editing theit shots to create magic. However, I beleive Darren Rayner is. Look at Outdoor Graduation. THat intro was golden. Now i don't know why your counting out clarke. The dude is graduating from film school. He's boss. You haven't seen his stuff so don't judge it.

Even if you don't trust clarke, atleast trust Rayner. Its a team game. There edit will be banger.

AJ is an great filmer and easily one of the most creative and talented editors in skiing, if not number one. If I were to have someone make an edit for me, I would probably choose AJ, so I'm excited to see what happens.

You seen just passing thru? It blew my mind honestly, it was on par if not high at some points then a lot of the other pro filmers in the ski industry and might i go so far to say diff aspects of the film industry. Mike Clarke is a solid pick and i'm happy he's there filming because he has so much talent with a camera, i'm pysched to see what he can pull off here with his 7d. Looking forward to his i think the most out of all

Yo, i have been filming together with Andreas J for the past year nowmaking this year movie called Se Vest, and working together with another filmer is a lot more different than working alone, i can truely say me and Andreas has developed a lot this past year as filmers!

But i have also learned that hees a way better filmer than i am, and deffinatly a top notch filmer to be recooned with in the future, and for every filmer thats doing joss, they will get 10% better cause of the shared experience and ideas they have and will get over two weeks, how sick is'nt that!

the world of skiing and filming is about developing and making ends meet, and your not making ends meet with this topic!

To me this is a fucked up thing for you to do! I consider you as one of the up and commers filming wise, but creating negative energy aound a fellow country man and a filmer like this is just plain dumb, you should rather create some good vibes around the teams leading up to how sick the edits are going to be, instead of quieting their skills down like this, id rather have you cheering for norway than hating on them, who knows maybe one year you'd get to go to joss, i would'nt make you look like a Noob!

PS, the editing youre refeering to wernt supposed to be shown/made unntil next week, its made in 30mins while andreas was packing to go to JOSS!

I fully believe in Darren, and I may have been wrong about Clarke because Team Canada did just win. I've been on a shoot with Darren and seen him at work, he kills it behind the lens, no doubt. It's just what I've seen Clarke come out with up till now really hasn't been special. At all.

How do you expect people to progress if you have people like yourself 'saying they're not good enough'. You don't even know who some of them, they could be amazing... Josh Knox for one is amazing at editing, not sure about the Norway guys but they were chosen for a reason.
