Should Hatveit take a lesson from Burnquist?

So both are known for the parks in their backyard. Burnquist has arguably done more to advance the sport of skateboarding than any other skater of this era. Much of this has been due to his backyard park where he has been able to create dozens upon dozens of new tricks. I wonder if Andreas will become to skiing what Bob has been to skateboarding. I understand a backyard park doesn't make the athlete but it is interesting to think what Andreas may come up with during the next few years, given the amount of practice time he has now gained. I would be sick to see him come out with some mind blowing new tricks.

Most pro skiers get plenty of time to practice skiing and progress.

correct me if i'm wrong, but i thought danny way was more responsible for pushing mega ramps (even though burnquist has the table to QP in his backyard). seems like Burnquist's contribution has been skating vert and mega ramps switch . . . more along the lines of Duncan Adams.

^ i dunno but from what i know he has created over 40 tricks or some ridiculous number during his career

the difference with skiing everything is on a much larger scale compared to skateboarding, so Andreas might not have enough room to make huge features.

I think Jon has already done what you're talking about with JOI and JOSS.

Bob having a mega ramp in his back hard is completely different to Andreas have a 70 ft kicker and some rails. How many skate parks do you think have mega ramps? probably close to zero. However pro skiers can go to places like Colorado that have consistently sick jumps and more rails and therefore I don't see why he should be inventing 30ish tricks because he can ski at home. that's outrageous.

your a douche bag. action sports like skating and skiing aren't that different. they operate according to the same principles, more or less. burnquist's niche in vert skating is simple tricks with switch takeoffs and/or landings. same with duncan adams in pipe skiing.

well its just the mind set of having a private park in your back yard. if you come up with a crazy ass trick midday, and you dont feel like hauling your ass to the hill, you can just go experiment on your setup.

Yeah, I'd say it's much closer to JOI and JOSS, except that Bob's ramp doesn't melt, so he can invite people to hit it all the time without much maintenance cost.

Most pro skaters get plenty of time to practice and progress...but, I don't really think its about having the time to practice. Being able to just go out and know that you are in the comfort of your own house, just makes it easier to progress, think about a back yard setup, I definitely progress more in a few hours in my back yard then a few hours hiking rails at breck or keystone.

there are a lot more skiers hitting big air jumps than there are skaters hitting mega ramps. the numbers aren't even close

bob lives in california where it is allways relatively warm which allows a year long park. Andreas should move to like some glacier in Antarctica so he can have an all year back yard park lol

theres alot more to skateboarding than just the mega ramp, that is not the only way it has progressed recently....

plus most of the progression bob has done happened before he had a mega ramp in his backyard... he has had a park in his backyard for ages
