I'm from Indiana and I went down to Inianapolis Saturday. Didn't have tickets to the games, but i just chilled in downtown Indy and after Butler beat State the atmosphere was CRAZY!... and I'm seriously debating driving down there after they beat Duke tonight!
Honestly, I am not a HUGE Butler fan, I do not want it to look like I am jumping on the band wagon. Although, they are an in state team so I will suport them. Also, Duke beat my beloved Boilermakers... so FUCK DUKE!!
-that game sucked, yea it was close but that was a shitty game.
-those were not the two best teams in the country.
-this tournament rarely rewards the most deserving teams.
growing up in Indy and spending alot of time at Hinkle Fieldhouse and having alot of family who went to Butler, I am disappointed. But it was a great season. Being at the game in Salt Lake and seeing them make the final four was even better. I just wish i could have been home for this run. We bring back 4 starters and have only one other senior so see you next year, GO DAWGS
haha that game definitely did not live up to its full potential of a final championship game
probably has to do with the fact that there are 5 active white players on each team
talk about fundamental basketball...
Did anyone see singler get laid out by Howard, when butler heaved the final shot... It was awesome. And I thought it was a great game... Lots of defense.
are you denying there weren't a lot of white basketball players in that game?
it was a boring game in my opinion
fundamental basketball - playing technical defense, hence why the score wasn't very high
Why does it matter what color the players were? Also, why is defense boring? I think you may be confused, the game we are talking about was the NCAA Championship game, not a random NBA game. Oh, and thanks for your help John Madden, I never knew that defensive games have low scores, but thanks for trying.
Tthere was virtually no fundamental basketball, the low score was the result of poor shooting by two teams who really just aren't that good.
Some guy on ESPN said it really well, something like "one of the greatest games ever? thats ridiculous. This was two average teams, with unmemorable players, who both played poorly. Just because the game had a dramatic end doesn't mean it was a great game."
only great championships I can remember, probably will forget some
I'm 96.8% sure he is staying. He is definately not NBA material yet. Also, Dick V. already has his pre-season rankings out. Butler is at #6, Purdue is #5, Nova at #4, Michigan State at #3, Ohio State at #2, and yes you guessed it, the defending national champions, Duke, at #1. DAMN! Though, it is nice to see three Big Ten teams getting some love.
I absolutely love Butler. Stevens is going to stay for awhile and Gordon will be around at least one more year hopefully 2. Even though they lost, Matt Howard just crushing Kyle Singler on the last second three made it a little better to handle.
Perhaps there is a correlation between poor shooting and gooid defense? hmm
in fact, i'd say it's quite high
and i agree with you, it was not a good game at all
how did they not deserve the 1 seed. the won the ACC. and had a decent season. everyone just bitches about Duke when they don't know shit. they did have a pretty easy bracket but thats because teams like nova and lost which Duke totally has control over.
