Im 120lbs 5'8 and lookin at Prophets for next yr, i need a nice freeride ski, i read on NS that since the Flites have no metal in them, they r better in park cause they wont get bent as easily or somethin and also that they are better for lighter ppl like me.. help?
they are great skis, the metal doesnt get bent lol, but the skis are awesome for park. I rode the old 90 mm blends last season and loved them (they are teh same skis). Great for skiing trees and have a nice stiff flex, but still shred park. Get the flite and not the 90, the prophet 90 is very stiff, flite is just right for a stff ski IMO
depends what kind of ski you want, the flite is a little skinnier and stiffer, the blend is 10 mm fatter and hasa bit less sidecut. Totally depends on what ski you want. Personally, I'd get the blend, but the decision is yours. The blend is overall a better ski though IMO, its not capped and would be slightly more responsive, and I think has a more of a park kind of feel, but still floats good. Where do you live?
Those blends (the 90 mm ones) are the EXACT same ski as the prophet flite.
Exactly. So if you want to try something new and a bit fatter, slightly softer go with the new ones (also not capped). If you like them and dnt want to fuck with a good thing, get the flites. They are both good skis for eastern skiing
yea I do want to try something new, I have A-bangs and went to CO for a week in March, did greattt pow skiing and did barely any park. That week of pure pow all mountain skiin made me realize that Ive been wastin my years in the park when I have the whole mountain to have fun on... Def. made me appreciate the mountain more , and now I want to get better outside of the park, so Im lookin for a 80% freeride/ all mountain and 20% park, if that.
they have a little bit of rocker, which probably wouldnt be beneficial in your situation, you ski ice most of the time being from NY and they will float pow just fine @100 underfoot, and you can get em cheaper.get 09/10
