What ski?

I am looking for what ski to get for next season i am looking at on3p blue steele(rockerd) and armada halo(alpha 2). I would like reviews on both skis. Also open to other skis

Specs:

Age 13 growing(alot)
Height: 5.7-5.8
weight: 135 lbs.
It will be my main park ski i ski 67% jumps 33% rails.

My main dilemma is what length i read almost all ski threads so i know a lot about the skis, this thread is mostly about sizing.
If i got the halo should i get the 176, 170 or 182.
If i got the BS should i get the 171 or 181 i like my skis longer but not way to long.

definitely good choices, all i know is that the alpha 2 is extremely durable just like any other armada ski. i not sure on the on3p blue steels ive heard that the bamboo core is extremely poppy and good flex, and ive also heard that on3p's warranty is great if anything happens. Personally i would go with armada because they are pretty bombproof.

176 halo or 180 blue steel for your height/weight and the fact that youre growing

other than that, i would say both of those skis seem like good choices. havent read much on blue steels though, and since you liked armadas in the past i would lean toward that option.

Dont take into the account that these will last me a few seasons cause i ski about a 110+ days a year so they will get trashed i am guessing i will be about 5.9-5.10 by december so i guess the 181 is a good choice.

i don't have too much input, because i don't really ski park, but when i was around your age and in the same situation more or less, i made the mistake of going to short, so i'd go 181 with the rocker it'll ski a little shorter, and even if it throws you around a little at first you'll be a better skier in the end
and good job on a well formatted what ski thread, its a nice change from the norm

I suggest the Alpha 2's. They have the same bases/cores as the AR6's if you said that you liked skiing them. I would also suggest gettign the 182 because they do tend to ski shorter with the rocker.

Was I just reading next years things wrong or isn't he Halo supposed to replace the Alpha 1 and not the Alpha 2????

No the Halo will be replacing the alpha 2.

Take into account the Rockered skis ski much shorter cause less is touching the snow on a regular basis, so a 181 will feel much more like a 177ish ski. I'm about your size and I'm debating on size for my JMos too, I'll probably end up getting the 181.

they ski about the same length as 178 chronics if youve ever skied them. after riding them a while now, im even more stoked on them then before. my edges are mint, top shetts are great, and the ski is holding its profile amazingly. they slay everything in the park, from jibs to jumps, which is hard to come by in most skis. they are very light, i have them mounted with p18s and they are lighter then most of my friends skis

Armadas arent "bombproof" all of the 3 people i know with armadas have top sheet chippings all over the ski from little things like hitting the skis together in the air.

armada's top sheets suck, thats a fact, but it doesnt affect the ski. their edges and bases are really strong, and the overall construction is on point with them, same with atomic

the alpha 2s are really fun in the park and like armada always is, they are bombproof. they have an extremely low swing weight which made them super easy to throw around on rails and in the air and you never catch an edge on landings. they also were incredible for spring afternoons when it got slushy out. the maintained speed and the rocker got through slush no problem. my only problem with them is they did not carve very well when it was hard/icey(turned nicely in slush and soft snow though). for me that was the problem because i live on the east and ski the whole mountain. im guessing this is the same with any other rockered park ski. anyways if its just gonna be your park ski, get them. they will last a long time and really fun in the park

sparknotes: really fun in the park (low swing weight, rocker makes them playful, good in slush, dont catch). not so good all for carving and skiing all mountain

also they ski a lot shorter then they actually are so buy big

yeah its causes of the effective edge becuase of the early rise..these skis are good cause they ride short but they feel long soo weird but actually awesome..also if you ski a lot of ice like on the east i would not get these cause rocker struggles a bit to get an edge on ice in my opinion
