Am I shit out of luck? (surface warranty question)

I sent this to surface the day it happened, I don't know if warranty covers it... they still haven't responded.

"So I was skiing at Baker yesterday (3/29), I did a 180 off a windlip and my tail caught. I fell to my back and watched my ski (189 One Lifes) slide through the clearing I was in and off the cliff-band at the end of the zone. I thought, "What in the hell? I have powder cords, how did that happen?" Turns out that my heel piece ripped out, because that is all I had attached to my powder cord. I went and probed for my ski in the bowl below, no such luck.

I had these skis sent to me new in Jan from causwell, and I love them! I don't know if you guys cover this with warranty, but I'll take a half-warranty! I only need one ski. I'm going to look for my ski in the spring when the snow melts, but even if I find it, it wouldn't do me any good. Because the heel piece came off and now has exposed holes, the ski will just be soaking while I wait for the snow to melt."

what do you all think?

AND DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHY JESTERS ALWAYS FUCKING RIP OUT? (short screws?)

VERY doubtful warranty, but still wish you the best for it. Often for warranties you have to have proof of damage but in your case you do not even have the proof of product so it does not look promising.

they wouldnt warranty for a lost ski but possibly for a pullout? i dont know man, you'd be lucky if you got a warranty

hmmm, I dunno man, that sucks though. They might give you a discount on one ski, but I'm not sure. Hope it works out for you man.

They're really good guys up there. Even if it isn't covered under warranty they will do their best to help you out. Give it some time for them to get back to you though.

Good luck with that one man. At least you'll have a shot ski if you find the one in the spring haha.

Both of my heel pieces on my jesters ripped out of my LAE jeff browns (same as one life). I have got them remounted since then and they seem to be coming out again ( the track is slightly lifted off the ski). I have also heard of a couple other people with the same problem.

Surface was hella legit with warranties for me. my watch lifes had the edge delam and they sent me nine lives for free and those broke in 4 days so i got some ar6s and my dad asked them for this years watch lifes and they sent it to him. they stick behind their product pretty well. besides what happened to big spence.

Its wort a try to fill up the holes with epoxy and remount the bindings in a different place.

If you rip out of your skis that easily, it's usually due to a mounting fallacy, such as improperly sealed holes or the like...

i've ripped both heel pieces of jesters out of my Kung Fujas'.

But I wont have that problem any more since Ive gone to the darkside of freeheel

dont know if you do this already, but epoxy your screws into the ski. woodglue sucks. it will hold 10X stronger, and if you ever need to, you can still break the screws loose (although its definitely harder)
