It's do-able. It would just be hard to calculate but I think with trial and error with different curved rails in different positions it could be quite possible. The trick is that the rail has to be slightly lower than the path the skier would take in the air so the momentum he has would keep him on the rail, then as his speed dies down he slides off of it and half flips back onto the ground.

Yes extremely hard to do but it would be pretty kick ass if it was done.

A mini halfpipe with coping.

Around 6 ft tall with super smooth transition.
The deck would be angled a little bit back into the pipe and made of plexigas, HDPE or something like that.
