Alright NS I will be graduating in June from high school, and I have chosen to enter the US. Air Force. I want to travel everywhere, and see everything in the world. So I did some research and found out that if I want to travel, and still get a good education in the field that I wish to enter, then the Air Force is the best choice for me. So after talking ot my parents we have come up with the decision that I will not have a graduation party, and my parents will take the money that they would have used ona party and get me a camera. Because what is the point of traveling if you can't share your experiences with everyone else? So I am completely ignorant, and have no idea on what I should get. I do know that I want something that will take amazing pictures, and have a shit load of features. Also a lense or two that I should look into getting to add on. It would mostly be used for scenic shots of that sort, but also if I want to get some action shots it has to be able to handle them no problem. Thanks for the help NS.
i wouldn't recommend dropping 4 grand on a nasty camera setup. theres a lot of nice digital slr's that come with a decent starter lens, nice versatile cameras for good prices. I too recently looked into camera's cuz I'd been rocking film slr for a while and wanted to get a digital but not blow all my loot on it because it would be my first. I ended up with a Nikon D5000 kit that came with a pretty decent 22-55mm zoom lens. It's a lot of fun and pretty versatile for everything from portraits to landscapes to street shots to taking pictures of your dumbass freinds doing dumbass shit. I even had a good time with it on my trip to utah getting some pictures of my brother shredding pow. I picked it up off amazon for around $700 and I don't regret it. Very satisfied & it's perfect for what I wanted at a nice price. Also, one you get into it more you can get into buying lenses and shit becasue thats really what increases the quality of your photography is the lens. if you poke around you'll notice most of the medium-higher end camera bodys cost pennies compared to the lenses.
