Go Pro stopping by itself

I just bought a go pro off some guy on ns, and i am stoked to use it. I am having a little problem though. When i have been in my car, or just walking around the house taking a video, it will stop recording after about a minute or so. It is fully charged and there is nothing on the memory card. The camera doesnt shut off, it just stops recording.
Anybody know whats going on?

how big is the memory card?

his memory card might have too low of a transfer rate and that probably causes it to stop. you probably want a class 6 [60mbs/s] or higher rated card

yea class 4 might not cut it, try switching to low quality resolution and see if it still happens

while using mine skiing some days it will work perfect and some days it will stop seconds in some videos and other times in the same day it will work for a good five minutes. anyone know why this is? i use rechargeable lithium btw, i think its the cold but i dont understand why it wont work and ten minutes later it will work fine when there is no change in temperature.

again, its most likely the card you are using. It most likely is not capable of keeping up with a large amount of data being sent to it so it stops. Sometimes it works fine if there is not as much data being sent (smoother shots with less action) and not so well when its super action packed and a lot of information flowing at one time.

i just moved it from 4 to 3 and just left it on my desk in video mode and it shut off again.
and when i turned it on it was flashing sos?

Like one of the guys above me, I think you just need to pick up a class 6 card and you should be a ok.

I have a 32g Class 4 card, and haven't had this problem at all (keeping my fingers crossed).

Is it something in the menu that causes it to stop after one minute exactly?  Like a record-timer?

don't really want to drop another 40 on another card if that isnt the problem.
