All the old guys seem to say things like "oh I wish it was still '01", or take an elitist stance because they were around in the "golden age" and know things that happened a long time ago.
All the young kids seem to think all this new stuff is where it's at, all the gangster style and tall tees and pretzels.
Personally I'm somewhere in between. I watched UP1.2 yesterday again and that was easily my favorite time in skiing. '05. People throwing down in moderately fitting clothes (don't know why but I found that really appealing), JP and Julien showing how fun everything was, antifreeze, music other than hip hop in ski edits, and the fact that twintips were still unpopular enough that you could just talk to every skier with twintips at any mountain and be instant friends. It was new and exciting, but evolved enough to have its own identity.
So what year do you wish it was again? Or if you like it as is why is it better now than before?
