Speed issues constuction fence help

I just finished making my summer set up but i am having some speed issues.  I used old carpet that i found in my house for the drop in and the tranny but even with soap and water it doesn't slide really well.  I made the entire thing out of scrap wood from around my house so i didn't really cost me anything and i wanted to try the carpet before i paid for turf or something.  However, obviously i need to buy something.  I was thinking i was gonna buy snow fence to put over it becuase everyone on ns swears by it.

Important part:

Question: Should i cover the entire drop in (tranny and kicker) all of it with fencing for max speed, or will it get messed up at the end when i go off it?  I see a lot of people only cover the drop with it but my biggest problem is losing speed in the transition, i tried to make it as smooth possible but i think it is the crappy carpet that is killing my speed.  FYI, i haven't bought anything yet so what would you guys reccomend that i do?

I would try using the fencing before buying any turf because the fencing is so easy to get for cheap or free. When you use the fencing you don't want to put any on your kicker because you won't be able to spin off of it. I have turf and fencing on my setup and I get plenty of speed without using soap. If your loosing speed in your tranny then it is too steep and you should try to make it more mellow. Turf is pretty cheap though, I paid like $16.00 for a 4'x12' piece for my run-in.

i'm gonna go out tomorrow and gets some turf and fencing.

just a few more questions though...

how should i attatch the fencing to the drop it?  probably not nails, maybe a staple gun?

and it looks like some people overlap their fencing over their turf, like have multiple layers of it.  is this necessary or should i just cover what i need once and i'll be all set?

dude i only snow fenced the ramp and first half of the tranny cause that shit is so slippery and fast. i left the other half of the tranny and take off ramp turfed because i found that your skis actually have control on the turf, unlike the fencing. with the turf, you can do stuff like spins off and youll find it to be a lot better for having control over your skis. fencing the ramp will give you enough speed too so youll be set.

i used a staple gun and it worked great. just make sure you use enough staples so the fencing is less likely to rip.

i layered mine but only cause i started off as all turf and i wanted it to go faster so i covered the drop with fence. the turf underneath actually seems to give me a little more control but its not big difference. if you have the money, i say layer it up... but if you dont, then fencing should be just fine.
