ok, im 5 9, 130 pounds, im an ok skier. i do rails and hit jumps. like to cruise groomers some times.
pros and cons with alpha 2
pros and cons with t hall
are the soft or stiff? are they poppy?

Ok ill throw ya a bone.

So i got the T-halls about 3 weeks ago after i broke my athems. However im 6'4 and 190 pounds so this might not be the most helpful to you.

-They are still a very soft ski but they are quite poppy at the same time.
-They are a terrible powder ski/ all mountain ski
-Super fun jibbing ski though and have a relatively low swing weight.
-The top sheet is not durable at all and is chipping everywhere and the graphics are rubbing off (although this shouldn't matter if you are actually a skier and not just a gear whore that cares about the littlest dents)
-not quite as easy as the anthem top ski switch on because of the side cut but they are still no problem
-I really like the flex pattern for presses and olis/nollies
-The edges are holding up quite well on boxes and rails although i suggest detuning the edges which is a must for almost all park skis.

Not sure about the alpha 2 though because it was my first choice over the t-hall but i couldn't get it in japan although i believe it is more expensive (havn't been looking at the prices in the US)

^ ok thanks +k for you. yea chipping doesnt really matter to me. my friend has last years t hall and he likes them alot. what about the alpha 2?

The alpha 2 is very stiff from what i hear. They have a little rocker to them, both are pretty park specific. if your looking for soft go t-hall, stiff, alpha

how do these skis compare on lightness and stiffness?

My brother has the alpha 1's and they seem like the heaviest skis ever (although the bindings are very heavy also)

I've heard that the alpha 2s are heavier than the alpha 1s, and i've been riding rossi scratch pros for years which would make the transition very hard to get the alpha 2/halo if they are that heavy


also my weight and height are... 140 pounds and 5 feet 6 inches

i have the 08/09s and they are awesome on rails and jumps, i personally do rails more than jumps so i cant really comment on the jumping aspect, but the edges and bases have held up amazingly after 60+ days. that being said, mine have started rockering in the tips, gotten incredibly soft, yet still poppy in and playful, the topsheet chips by the foot, and one of my tips split when i hit some hard snow at the beginning of the season, as in first day.

they are hands down the funnest ski i have used by far

The alpha 2 for 10/11 is the halo it has a 5 tip. 7 waist, and 6 tail index flex on a 1-10 scale, the only difference from the 09/10 is topsheet and base.  The t-hall for 10/11 has a 5 tip, 8 waist, and 5.5 tail flex.  changes are ar50 sidewalls same as on the alpha's and the change to the hybrid triple zone core.

Okay o I recently got alpha 2s and can't tell you how much I love them. I was kinda scared cause I like to ski out of the park a little even when the snow isnt great. However, they are amazing everywhere. They are not stiff though. they are the perfect flex but not stiff what so ever. I am like the same size as you just a couple inches shorter and went with the 176s hope that helps.
