Replying to Is skateboarding still cool?

Maybe I'm just a bit too old to still have my finger on whats popular amongst the youth but am I right in my perception that skateboarding isn't as popular as it was in the early 2000s? I remember in grades 6-10 ish skating was hugeee. Everyone skated and there were skateparks everywhere (legit or not). Now it seems that I don't see as many skaters out and about. Could this be just because my age group doesn't skate as much or is it that when my demographic stopped skating skating took a huge loss? Youngsters tell me is skating still huge?
