Only read this if you're kinda bored
There have been many Dr NS threads over the years with most of them receiving juvenile remarks or the natural response of "go see a real doctor". Well here is my story.
So I have been skiing in Japan at Grand Hirafu for the 09/10 season although I am originally from Vancouver Canada (chea baby). The season had been going amazingly until Saturday when I woke up in the morning with a slight stomach ache but thought nothing of it and headed out skiing for the day anyway. As the day progressed my stomach continued to hurt more and more although it was tolerable because I was outside skiing, what more could be better right?. When I finally got home at 5pm I felt quite sick and thought that maybe I was just really hungry because I hadn't eaten much that day. So after I ate a bunch of Giozas (some Japanese thing stuffed with meat) I went to my room to try and sleep it off, however half an hour later I was downstairs puking my brains out for the next 5 hours until I finally fell asleep. The morning after I woke up and was able to eat a little food thinking that I had just gotten a mild case of food poisoning. Thinking it would soon get better and through the day I was sleeping and try to eat and finally managed to toss and turn through the night.
Later that day I decided to go onto NSChat because I was bored of watching movies all day. There were Athemzzzz and K-Rob on at the time and we started talking about how shitty I was feeling and listing off my symptoms. Athemzzz told me that he had had very similar symptoms when he had an appendicitis and that I was listing them off almost exactly. He then told me that I should really go and get it checked out at the hospital because it could be more serious then I thought. K-Rob just told me that he hoped I would die....
Once I arrived at the hospital the doctor in VERY broken english explained to me that he thought I had Gastroenteritis and that I would be fine and just to head home. However, because Athemzzz was quite sure that I had an appendicitis I decided to ask the doctor to check for it which he then determined was actually the case. It could have turned out quite differently if I had taken the doctors advise and gone home because on the way to the CT scan I began to black out and started seizing in the wheelchair (fun times CHEA).
Now 5 days later I am finally out of the hospital (early because I couldn't stand it there) and recovering soaking up NS and streaming movies. This now concludes my story of NS saving my life (sorta).
Hope everyone is enjoying their spring turns and all the best for the coming summer/winter.
Hopefully pics will come soon once im able to get back to my camera which is in my room that I have to climb a ladder to get into....
