This is an old thread, but I'm going to SR tomorrow and was wondering the same thing. I just tried using some steel wool from under my sink but it doesn't really do much. Anyone else have any ideas?
detuning and rounding isn't the same, if you're breaking in an edge for railskiing, just rub it over the rail a couple of times or run a stone over your edge...
detuning is basically just removing the sharp brims from the sharpening and can be done with a gummystone or a sanding sponge or very carfully with a piece of very fine sandingpaper ....
