Yeah its water proof i tried testing the one i'm going to keep by standing in the rain for about ten minutes and i stayed bone dry the outside of it stayed a little wet for a few minutes it is NOT a jacket though so don't expect a jacket expect a raincoat/windbreaker i hand a helly hansen one and it works the exact same
