Who thinks wachusett should get snowflex?

Would be nice to see either chusett or someone else in the northeast open at least one snowflex trail for summer skiing. I sent them an email, but it would be nice to have ns'ers back me up here!

For a  mountain that close to Boston with a pretty short season and few terrain attractions....it really does make sense. They could make enormous profit off of it.

that wud be so ill. u shud try and get a petition. so many people wud go there to shred in the summer as long as it had some features. keep workin on this

I really don't think it would, If it were the only place of it's kind, people would be lining up from all over the east and than some. Just think of the overall attention it would gain them, in return bringing even more people in the winter. I know i'm being an optomist here, but I like to think on the positive side. If liberty university pulled it off i don't see why they or another new england area couldn't.

believe it or not Wachusett is one of the most profitable ski resorts in the US. this would not be a bad move for them.

theyre the most profitable in the northeast.  they would overprice tickets for snowflex so much just like their regular tickets

petition?  they're not government man, you're not really protesting right?  if you really want to get them lined up for it, you have to write a detailed business proposal...

hopefully you wont talk yourself out of it half way through when you start figuring costs

Nah man, you're wrong, Corey's right. Wachusett is extremely profitable. It doesn't cost nearly as much to operate as a large resort in VT/ME/NH, and they have an absolutely enormous clientel. They're also open 9-10 seven days a week. Given the massive amount of people that go to Wa from Boston/CT/RI area, the amount of lessons, food sales, overpriced ticket sales, and other shit they hawk on a daily basis, it's not surprising that they make so much damn money. Resorts up north are packed on the weekends, but during they week they're largely empty. During the main part of the season, WA will be packed on nightly basis. That's cash money right there.

Oh and on the subject of snowflex: that would be sick, but the Crowley's would never ever do it.

I'm assuming the crowley's own wachusett? How bout we all email them nicely and take a shot! It wouldn't hurt to try. I think if you take a look at the videos on the liberty university site it's kinda rather convincing,  a win win for everone, and trust me you will see one of these places open within the next 5 years around here, check this https://www.newschoolers.com/web/forums/readthread/thread_id/528688/

No doubt, I haven't seen the figures or anything, I'm just saying that based off of personal observation. How do you get those numbers? I'd be really, really interested in seeing those figures.

we all know that they run more tv ads than anyone else, thats for damn sure. I see thier ads on local tv in vt , nh, maine etc, thats not cheap, and one major factor, they own polar beverage corp as well!

it would be much more effective to compare Wachusett to a western resort that has actual expenses, ie. ski patrol, mass snow work, etc. I am sure these numbers are public somewhere on their annual financial reports

thats for another thread another day, that being said, does anybody here reading this happen to work at chusett? I'm trying to get the presidents email addy as it would be much more direct than contacting thier generic info@wachusett email. Its not listed on thier site, and i bet these aren't being fwd to the right person.

Nah, different people own Wachusett brewery. Wachusett is a regional Native American term; there's a wachusett high school, various wachusett businesses, etc.

And as for the quality of the park, don't you guys realize that people have been complaining about the park and begging for a better park for like 10 years? It's just not going to do anything. Management is the way it is and it's not going to change, especially not by emails from kids. Not trying to be a dick, I'm just saying don't get your hopes up and waste your time.

im not a kid by any means, actually i'm a 33 year old adult, and i sent proper professional emails to no avail, so maybe they are clueless, maybe they just don't care, but im not stopping here, i'm going to propose this to every ski area/ mountain in new england, and if that doesnt work than off to private investors. I have a few other locations in mind here, but we will see a snowflex center open in new england within the near future.

I could see Whaleback opening one up over any of the mtns in the east.  They seem to appeal more towards the summer sessions...

Perhaps the most unique summer attraction at Boston Hills was summer skiing! This was installed during the early 1980's. They installed a mat with bristles on the whole front slope. You would ride the chair up, moisten your skis with water or a lubricant, then ski down! Unfortunately, you can imagine what would happen if you fell...lots of bruises!
