Just take a gander at that thread. It outlines quite well all the issues with the new FTi boot. Why do people with wide feet get shitty boots?


Maybe Full Tilt could tell us a bit more about this?

And since we're doubling posting, FT have no explaining to do whatsoever. They don't owe you anything. Stop imagining FT has some duty to the skiing community. They're a business like any other.

The reason they 'copped out' is simple. They could make the shittest boots in the world. But with the name 'Full Tilt' written across the top, kids will still be crushing their feet into them.

it sucks but making a new mold costs way more than buying an existing one. like 6 figures to a million. It makes sense money wise cause kids on NS with wide feet will think oh, a wide FT I'll buy it and be like tom wallisch.

if the product isnt for you, then dont buy it.

but i talked to someone who said the only good thing about them was the intuition liner, and that is used in an old pair of boots. the idea of full tilt is that they flex, why would anyone want a stiff FT?

This is the first year they are coming out with this boot. It's not going to be perfect for everyone, but no boot is. You can't just add five new boots to a line, it takes time. They still have the current type of boots, this is just another option for people that have a wider foot.

Things take time and money.

Are you retarded? Full Tilt makes the Konflict..which is a pretty ridiculously stiff charging boot, they make the Seth Morrison(which is the same damn idea as the Konflict)


As for NickyP or whatever the fuck your name is. I right now own SPK Pro's, they're great..for park. At my weight(210 lbs) I find that they're pretty soft regardless of the fact Salomon says they're 110 flex. I want a stiff, charging boot that fits a wide foot. Something like the Salomon Gun or FT Konflict. I've had Nordica Speedmachine's or w.e they're called in the past, but my foot has gotten even too wide for those(103 mm last IIRC)

Before someone says, get a footbed you have pronation. I already have a footbed.

my thoughts exactly. the konflict is a flex 6 same as their premier park boot the hot dogger.... i think konflicts are the sickest full tilt model but not ridiculous concrete flex

I tried that, they lost too much height and I couldn't wear them because they weren't tall enough(I don't know actual term for them being to low for your foot)

gettin your boot punched isnt the same as grinding a base (which i think is what youre talking about in that post?) you shouldnt hate on FT because the boot isnt for you either lol. dont make your foot fit, make the boot fit.
youre too low in your boots now because you werent going slow enough in the boot fitting process. measure twice cut once kinda thing. when you grind a footbed/base do it slow. and in .5mm increment - if not .5mm even less. gettin a boot punched out is great because it adresses the issue of width in concentrated areas while still keeping the overall fit nice and responsive. it took me 2 months to get my boots where i want for a good start and a full year to tweak them.

It does suck that these new FTs look rubbish, but they were an existing design, so there's probably not much they could do with them. As for getting stiff boots for wide feet, I have the Dalbello Proton 12s (called the 15 this year) and they are great, think they are a 102 mm last, so would prob need some work for you anyway. As always, just go to a good bootfitter, tell them what you want, and I am sure they will be able to make something work.

The way it was explained to me was that when they punch out the boot, it loses height(as more material cannot be created, simply moved around) So it may fit horizontally but not vertically(bones on top of your feet start having pressure points)


I tried everything for those Nordica's. I tried doing the shit that LVV suggested in Tech Talk, still didn't fit right.

I just want A company to make a wide last stiff charging boot.

i guarantee you its just because you have a shitty boot fitter or your are too ignorant to take advice on what boot you should get.

I too was hoping that the new FT would be a wide, stiff 3 piece boot. It sucks that it's just a beginner boot, which is unfortunately pretty regular for wider last boots. Oh well. If Full Tilt wants to get into the beginner demographic that's cool. To me it's pretty disappointing, though.

are you saying that the lange banshee is wide is definitely is not, it has a 98 last. and to the op where do you go for boot fitting in northern ontario? 

If you could somehow get to the gta you could try on the atomic B120 at skiis and biikes in mississauga. 120 flex with a 104 last. Also nexts years is pretty ballin with it being a 2 buckle boot, aswell as a custom shell that expands overtime to your foot length. Drop by sometime and we'll hook you up!

FT's have a boot that works for some people (no ski boot works for everyone, duh). The cable system is pretty nice for my shins, but my god, do my feet REFUSE to fit in the shell. It would be absolutely awesome if they could just widen the bottom a few millimeters, thats all. Keep everything else the same, just a bit wider. What they instead released this year is a cop-out boot for gapers. They could have done a lot better, and I hope they eventually realize the only thing keeping myself and many other people from buying their boots is a single dimensional adjustment.

I'm sure to create that boot they had to make an entire new mold which can't be cheap.  It's the first year it's out... give them a break.

I think it has more to do with K2 not giving them any R&D money, thus they just use boots already in existence. The only money K2 gives them goes into marketing.

The result is that your left with an unmodified 30 year old boot design, and a newer~ish entry level boot that they bought off a euro company.

I think they were trying to tone down their product for less serious freestyle skiers, ie. less flexes, cheaper cost, and it is less interchangeable in features, but the same shell is used for 2 sizes, so less money is spent.

Wish I would of looked into your boots, full tilts didn't fit me, I ended up going with a Head Mojo hf, i've wasted so much time and money trying to get them pressed out so they fit correctly. Next time im picking a shop that actually has a boot fitter that knows what he's doing. Not blaming Head, they make good stuff,  I blame the boot fitter partly, and I also blame my ugly feet and my hella bone spurs.
