M.I.P....what a shitty night

Yeah i got breathalyzed last night and ended up getting a court summons for possession of alcohol. There is enough evidence for the charge but is there any way to get this shit off of my record? This is the first time ive ever been charged with anything. I want a clean slate. Help me out NS

Something will be on your record no matter what. Even if you get a deferment, it will still show.

I had a few friends get them in like freshman and sophomore year of college and they just had to do random breathalyzers for a few months and pay a fine and it came off their record.

really i dont think its that big of a deal. i never got one. pretty much everybody drank as a minor.
i never got an MIP because i wasnt a retard but i really dont think they are that big of a deal. and since your a minor im pretty sure your record is clean when you turn 18.

yeah there's usually this thing called a deferment program.
usually you have some community service, pay a fine, take an alcohol class, go to an AA meeting. shit like that.

then after you complete everything, they expunge it from your record. this means you can forget it ever happened and it's off your record.

then you can go get drunk again...

He's talking about me and yea it is off my record. All I had to do was 8 hours of community service, attend a mothers against drunk driving class and a alcohol/drug class were 3/4 of the time I debated with my counselors on why weed should be legal ha.

Yeah I'm pretty sure if you are a minor it's not a big deal. It has happened to a bunch of people I know, they just did some divergence class and the charge was removed after completion of the course. Google it and see what options are available for your town/state, it may differ from VT.

My buddy who's 16 has three and has gotten the same charge for all three of them. 8 hours of cs and two classes ha.

Still not a big deal. where do you live? I got one in Summit County, all I had to do was pay 50 bucks and stay clean (not get caught, no U.A.s) for 6 mos and they took it off my record. Although I know people that have gottten community service, bigger fines, and U.A.s just don't stack those shits up and its absolutely not a big deal man.

To be honest, it's a misdemeanor and therefore not really that big of a deal. You don't even have to put it on applications most of the time. I have two and when asked about anything on my record I've told them about mine and they pretty much laughed it off, and these were jobs working in the legal system. Don't sweat it, everyone makes mistakes.

the funny part is in Ohio an underage is a Misdemeanor one, but a DUI is a misdemeanor four...

Um you apparently are missing the topic of the thread then. I gave they guy some insight on my experiences with getting MIP's. Personally I wish I didn't have one because then I wouldn't of had to do all the shitty consequences. Trust me, I dont think its "bad ass", It actually sucks balls

You haven't listed an age yet, but if you're under 18 you won't get it on your record. Everything gets wiped when you turn 18.

hes 19 he said. but your are kinda right.. i have had some encounters with this and yes it does get whipped off your record so that no one looking into your file , say someone looking at you for a job, can see it . but all the police still have it on record and when they run your name it still shows up no matter what.
