A while back I posted some pics of the molds we used to fab this speaker.
Well now I am happy to say that this bad boy is fully functional. In only one week, we are the proud recipient of multiple noise complaints and one noise violation. For some reason, we tend to get the complaints whenever we play Gucci Mane.
As for the speaker, the housing is made entirely of fiberglass with wood reinforcements to hold both the speaker and the Dayton Audio plate amp. The amp runs 250W to a 12" Eminence Full Range speaker with a tweeter.
The paint job is done using acrylic paints and then protected with a spray on clear coat. You still have to be mindful of chipping during transport. Dan of Prontocuts also hooked us up with the diecut vinyl for the job.
When we're on the go, I hook this thing up to an XPower 1500W Battery power source, so we can post it at skateparks as well as on the mountain. If you or your friends have an event in the SF Bay Area, Tahoe, or LA area, feel free to give us a shout.
