im very confused about this. im solid on making vests, but i have no idea how to attatch the arms. it seems to me that when i sew them on i will be sewing the arm holes shut, if that makes any sense. so basically i have a vest and two sleeves and i dont know how to attatch them. help?
ok so turn the vest inside out. Then insert the sleeve into the arm hole cuff first. Regular side out. So it will be regular side to regular side of the fabric. Then just sew in a circle around the edge of the 2 fabrics.
my sleeves are usually just flat on the end, but my suggestion is to go to walmart. Buy a 7 dollar hoodie, then cut that shit apart and sew it back together to understand it.
i'd make the arms with the "bump thing," it makes the shoulders look much more natural. also, just go to a store and buy a pattern, it's much easier than taking a sweatshirt apart
Sew the arms onto the vest before sewing the vest into an actual piece. Then sew down the length of the sleeve and down the side of the vest all in one stitch. This is the only way that works properly and comes out the way it should.
