Slush Skiing!

Okay, I might get some hate for this but I find slush skiing amazing in the park. So much fun, because even though it slows you down it's just fun overall. I had more fun skiing this weekend than I have since we had a pow day like 2 months ago. Am I the only one who would much rather ski park in complete slush, than in just regular loose surface snow?
sorry, I'm just drank like 10 glasses of mountain dew.

slush skiing is so awesome. i like it even better when right before it becomes slushy, its real soft, and then you go really really fast and then do a super quick stop and you get a faceshot. so awesome.

You can try stuff you wouldn't normally try. Same goes for when there's pow in the park though. I love both.

the only thing i don't like about slush skiing is when your fall at high speeds, and exposed skin is fucked.
but other than that, its amazing

i agree but landings get pretty fucked quick. I was at mount snow today and was mainly skiing nitro and in the begining of the day it was sweet the jumps were prime and landed my first tail 5 then went in for lunch, came back out went to do a 5 off the first bump and relized that i now had to ski switch moguls fairly fast it was realy scary. I ended up eating it hard

I literally cannot wait for slushy summer park skiing.

Skiing in Norway all season, it was 6 degrees farenheit everyday, and really took it out of you. Although I was so unbelievably stoked to be skiing, when it's that cold, it puts a downer on it. Shit starts to hurt, fingers and toes get numb, etc.

But euro glaciers this summer will be skiing in tees or shirtless, in the sun, with friends. So much more chilled out and mellow. Like skiing is supposed to be.

Almost every new trick I have learned has been in those conditions. I would much rather ski pow, but if its 50 some degrees out or warmer, nothing beats slaying park in a few inches of slush.

I like slush skiing but by far the best skiing to me is a fresh groomed park right after it snowed so its fast,soft,and packed well so you dont catch an edge

super slow cause of the suction caused by the water, but suuuuuper soft.

Great for learning new tricks and doing dumb shit.

I had my best double eject this season sticking into a pile of slush and landing on my chest

I'm lovin the shit, especially just cruisin around in a tee shirt.  Only thing I hate is when you ollie up onto a rail sometimes your skis sink into the lip while popping onto the rail.  I had a pretty bad wreck the other day cause of this.

spring skiing is awesome. i aways find it the best time of the year. and the slush does help trying new things, but the speeds sorta weird to get used to

Yeah exactly, I came about 2 millimeters from nutting myself cause one of my skis sunk into the lip, thank god for being tall. Other than that, slush park skiing is the best, it's when I learn almost all of my tricks, cause where I live it's pretty much ice and freezing cold all winter.

Quick story aobut slushy, warm conditions and missing landings:

I was in Vermont, checking out UVM and had to do at least some skiing. Went to Bouton (Maybe Boulton???) valley. First of all, trees are fun as hell and I found a legit small cliff to jump off off, coming from NJ I was so stoked. After the trees up top I went into the park at the bottom, they had a barrel jib followed by an up box. Well I hit the barrel jib and tucked to avoid loosing speed in the slush and make it up the up box. I soon discovered that the up box had no landing, so it ended up being an up box to a kinda cliff drop, and I overshot the non-existent landing and hurt my knee landing way off balance. Almost an acl tearing situation, but I lifted the ski up right when I landed so it only jerked my knee. Ended up with what I believe is a bad twist or sprain and decent shin bang on my right shin from taking all the impact on that leg.  I knew it was like that, I expected to loose a lot more speed on the box :( Now I'm trying to heal it fast so I can ski in CO over spring break.

Alright, not so short but stay off that feature vermont people, it's death.
