Getting an old program to work

theres this really old program that me and my brother want to use to edit our stuff but i get this message when i open the program

Did you try re-installing the program?

yeah i did. i think its just cause its too old. i just tried it on my old laptop and the sample vids worked because its windows xp. then i put a clip on a usb and put it on the old lap top to test if it worked and it said it couldnt read the file...
