Im a few years younger than you, but ive had some pretty shitty luck with my knee that has really held me back, the first two seasons after were ok, but this season was not at all, I was gettting back from my second surgery, and i got maybe 10 days in, and none of them were chargin days.
That sucks, and really, the more I think about it, the more sure i am that it is something i cant let go of, not just skiing, but skiing well, and progressing. I started a career job, which i love, but i had very little time to stay active and in shape, and i was in no condition to be able to ski what i wanted to, so i didnt.
when your a kid, you dont need to work for it like you do as an adult, and while ive never really been a fan of training and working out (I just stayed extremely active and never let myself go), it really is the key to being able to continue doing what you love. and mentality, that is way more of an issue than most people imagine. yea, skiing can be painful, and thats why as you get older you have to be even stronger mentally and physically to keep it up, you always have to keep fighting. but with a positive attitude and enough effort, anything is possible, the question is just whether you want it enough.
but like ______ up there said (sorry i didnt quote it), we ARE skiers, we dont just ski. obviously skiing is critical to you, your user name is Ski or die. so yeah man, the balls in your court. if you want it bad enough, you can have it.
