Haha, some facts about Blue Steeles then:
The ski is 113/85/113, and we're offering it with rocker (20cm X 1cm symmetrical) or standard, whichever you wish. A fair amount of our customers chose rocker, they're pretty vocal about it being soft enough to butter and have fun on, but stiff and stable enough for larger features. As for stiffness, it comes standard with medium-stiff flex when lined up against most other park skis, but we can do modifications to slightly stiffen or soften each pair as a customer wants.
Its got a sick topsheet, and we use UHMW sidewalls, which hold up great to chips and edge-attacks. Our bases are 1.7mm thick instead of the 1.3mm industry standard, and we're one of the only manufacturers that use the beefy edges that match the thicker base. The setup is designed to save your skis from coreshots and allow them more base-grinds, but we give you a structured race tune before we ship each pair, waxed and brushed.
Bamboo is a great material, and the skis we built last year as prototypes are still going strong, ask anyone who bought them. When constructed correctly, bamboo can hold its pop and liveliness over a few seasons, instead of crapping out and leaving you with sloppy worn out seconds.
Scott (Iggyskier) and myself make each and every pair here in Portland, and we're always available for customer service questions, through email, phone or NS PM. Feel free to send me a PM if you've got any questions or if this sounds interesting, more than happy to talk about it.
