life would get boring after 200 years.

I think for the first 100 years, it would be really cool.  This is assuming you get to keep your body like it was around 21-25 years old and you could do things that interested you, such as skiing.  Just by the fact that you would be alive for so long, you would be very wise and have knowledge that comes with age. You would also be able to do all things you would ever want to do, like travel the world and see things that you've always wanted to see.  But I think it would get to the point where you are so jaded that nothing matters anymore. You can only have so many awesome experiences, I think they would run together and end up being meaningless in the grand scheme of things.  Everyone you know and care about will be gone by the time 100 years rolls around so you couldn't share those experiences with anyone you really care about.  You would just be trapped in eternity with nobody who could relate to you.  

So, to answer the question, no I wouldn't take that choice.  I would rather enjoy my life that I have as a mortal and see what's next in the after life, if there is even an afterlife.

no seriously, this sounds like a story from greek mythology (there might be one, although i dont know one). a guy that wishes to live forever without the possibility of killing himself. and he goes totally nuts and is just sitting around after he did everything that you can possibly do and saw his children, grandchildren and grand[insert X grand]children die.

even if you could pull it off, somebody would notice unless you kept moving around and changing names. The military would get wind of it and capture you then dissect you to figure out your secret. One day they try and use gamma rays to image your DNA, which subsequently mutates, turning you into a large green monster. You then create complete havoc across the globe. After its all done you are left with a throbbing headache and are missing most of your clothes. You assume you were roofied and carry on with your life.

i would with the option of dying unnaturally.  i think it would be cool to reach a point where we can travel in space.  then you can get even more bad ass experiences.

i would live forever but i would be able to die when i wanted to and i could hurt myself so i could try cool tricks and i would need to never be sick again, cause i hate getting sick.

I just typed out something, but then I accidentally hit refresh.

The jist of it was basically, what if we could get all the tissues in the body to create new cells from stem cells, and the created cells would always be the same. So I would always have 18 year old like skin cells. If all tissues did that, then couldn't we live forever.

Although I'm not so sure how that would work with the brain, since I'm not quite sure how memories are stored or in what form they exist when uhh, not in use I guess.

I would never want to live forever. Assuming your brain stays physiologically healthy, it would be impossible to avoid cognitive insanity. You would literally get so smart you would think yourself insane. I take comfort in knowing that I'm going to die and be forgotten, because at least there will always be a way out.

i feel as if i'd wind up getting depressed.

Think about being alive to witness everyone you know's death. All your family and friends would live and die, and you'd just keep going.

Might be cool to about 150yrs, but then i think i'd start running out of things.
