Will Pressing the Reset Button on the Handycam Erase the Footage?

I'm a camera noob but does it have tapes? If it does then I would assume that it won't erase your footage

It depends how the footage is stored. If its memory card, DVD etc then no. If its hard drive only then google it. Probably not though.

if the footage is being internally stored than resetting the camera resets it completely and the camera will be exactly as it was when you got it out of the box, with no footage, save it to a memory card and then do it
