From what I've heard (which could be off) they actually aren't bad as far as debt. The biggest problem is many of the owners don't care enough about the mountain to really invest in it. Simply fixing the snowmaking on Shamokin and actually running the t-bar would make the mountain a lot better, but most of the owners treat it as a free season pass and a way to store some money.
And as far as I know, the rail jam is still going on. I haven't talked to the guy who runs the park since this past weekend, but I'll keep updating if I hear anything.
