Mt hood public park?

i want to go to mt hood this year but my dad wants to go and stay at a hotel and i was wondering if anyone knows how the public park is and also if i can buy a day ticket to mt hood summer ski camp

day pass? really? the public park should be open at least through end of june (may be shorter this year). as soon as they start down loading on the mile it will probably close

public park is sick, you can buy a day pass for public or for some camps.

as for hotels, you could always stay in the timberline lodge, it's right at the base, but i'd recommend getting a cheap room in govy, the town down the hill from timberline.

that's where everyone is after skiing

last year i skied closing day at hood, that was august 15th

it snowed about an inch on the 14th...

what the hell? the public park will be there alllll summer. they usually dont have one in like september. thats really it.

seen alot of false info about hood in the summer latley

no... public park was open week of the 20th(ish) 28th(ish). it snowed the 21st or so too. it was weird as fuck. there was barely enough snow to ride to the base of the mile by the end of the week though...

more jumps but a lot fewer (if any this year) rails. theres the public pipe too which is a fun beginner pipe

stay with public unless you wanna help dig in the morning and hike all day with MHSSC. you can lap the public park if theres still enough snow.

sure that was last year? i'm almost positive it was closing day, but maybe i'm wrong.

regardless, it will be open late, as it always is. nobody is ever sure of the closing date. but, if you come in august or late july, be ready to not have enough snow to lap mile

Anyone know how much it costs to hit up the public park? I live in Michigan and want to snowboard so bad this summer but I cant afford at camp. How does this compare to the park at windells? Also where should I stay if I want to just hit up the normal parks?

last year a day ticket was 52 dollars.

the public park was fun last year, not like windells of HC or some other camps, but still pretty banger for summer.

as far as staying, stay in govy, everyone is there and the vibe is dope. or stay at the airstripe if you wanna camp for free.

People were getting pretty sick of hiking the public park (Don't know the exact dates when it changed to a hike only park, maybe around July sometime) last year and I know there was talk about having cheaper passes for park riders to hike.  Are they going through with that this year?

airstrip. sorry

but yeah the airstrip is all free can be sketchy at points, but most of the time its ok if your with a group of ppl. if you want to pay a little go to the trillium campground. its nice and tucked away in the woods and pretty legit. its somewhere around 15 a night for a camp spot and both the airstrip and trillium are less than 20 minutes from the lifts at timberline. def the place to stay if you want cheap camping

Yeah but a lot of people were getting caught last year, there was a lot of controversy over it all.   That's why there was talk of park passes, just looking to see if that's actually going to happen...

And in august it was a hiking park and not too much in it. If you are staying with your dad at a hotel, stay at the mount hood in or huckleberry inn. Day tickets are a lil spendy, 50ish. Public has a dirty 3-5 jump line from june to end of july.

haaa. woops. thought he said June 15th. ya the run out was still viable but this year there hasnt been as much snow so it might close earlier. if its open into august then op has nothing to worry about. best time to go is late june-july anyway

the public park is still good. there is two jumps and about 6 jibs. The park is moving further up The Magic Mile(lift) soon i think but should sitll be fun. The lifts stay open through July.

It is still hella fun and sick. GO

lappable means you can just keep taking the lift and you dont have to hike all day

Hey, does anyone have pictures they could post or something to see what the featrues are like and stuff?

im looking at going early august before it closes?.. and i want to know if its worth driving clear to oregon, when they close, etc.

or if someone could hook me up with a tele number to call?  I'd just like more information before i go..

Downloading has now started so it is no longer lappable. I was there a week or so ago and they had a three jump line with five rails following that.

I was there today, its about a 200 yard hike to the lift. The park was fun, down rail leading into a 4 jump line that was fun. After that I believe it was a down box, urban down, flat bar, then two boxes. I think that is right. The best parts of my day were on Palmer, out to the skiers left of the boundary shredding turns and the abandoned High Cascade park was fun too.

yes. it is the summer one. in the second location. it moves in july to a place with a better run-out. only a couple more weeks left in it. end of june it had 6 or 7 jumps and was still great
