I was in Tignes too for X and I can confirm that the course was indeed fucking sick. The number of hits was cool because as you say, riders had to show way more game with spinning both ways, variety and could throw stuff like 5s and 7s into their run without worrying too much about losing tech points. That said, the American X course was pretty sick too, certainly compared with last year.
I've also been speaking with some fairly heavy-hitting dudes [claim] involved with the organisation of the event and it is confirmed for the next 2 years, by which time it will have grown to the full range of events we see at American X, i.e. including all the other events, but hopefully not 50 cent!
All in all, Tignes hit it out of the park with Euro X. From the pipe to the slope course to the weather to the event village, 2-4-1 week skipasses etc. Only thing I'd want to see improved is the headline music act. David Guetta? Huge in france and indeed the rest of europe, but not exactly in keeping with the target audience... or maybe I've missed the point and it is.
Bring it on next year!
