Revelstoke vs Kicking Horse: a ski bum's dilemma

Hey NS,

I'm about to graduate from University and next winter I'm going to live the dream of being a ski bum, but I can't decide between Revelstoke and Kicking Horse. I'm from the east so I'm pretty much done with skiing super tight trees on runs that aren't steep with no pow. What I want in a mountain is steeper high alpine lines with drops and chutes, open bowls, and some solid glades that you can rip through without getting ripped up by passing trees. A decent park for down days and shotty weather would be a bonus.

I've heard great things about both mountains and checked them out online, but I've never skied either of them. So if you ride or have a least skied both mountains at some point, which would you recommend and why?

Trying to decide between these two myself. Generally I think everyone is saying Revy. I went there for a holiday the other year but think we had bad luck with the snow, didn't get any for 10 days (the whole trip), so I felt a bit like I didn't get to experience good conditions.

For anyone in Revy, if you wanted to ski park, is it too much of a trek to Silverstar? Heard they have a good park.

If I was in KHMR I guess Lake Louise is the nearest for a decent park. I think it's somewhat closer to KHMR than Silverstar is to Revy.

A few comments about Golden being a bit grim, not sure how old those posts are, so can anyone shed any light on how Golden is compared to Revy these days?
