i hope not. my uncle lives there. 200+ buried sounds a bit overboard to me but if its true then lets hope everyone is ok.

I just heard about that too.  A bunch of sledders hill climbing.

I'm hoping it turns out alright, but fuck, the conditions out there are really bad for avys right now.

honestly, the conditions are terrible for sled especially right now.  There were size 3 naturals running.  I cant imagine running a sled on any slopes over 15 or 20 degrees.

getting 200 people on one slope at revelstoke isn't very realistic.

It was likely out of bounds, a lot of people hike straight to the slackcountry without any avy gear.

Aaaaghhhhh why don't people check the damn avalanche bulettins?

I hate hearing about this shit, I feel super sad for those people, it could easily have been avoided.

yeah it was a sledding "festival" on Boulder.

Apparently the slide came down on all the spectators and people at the bottom of the slope.

Death toll upped to 3.

I know a guy who went to Revy this weekend to sled so this is pretty scary.

Yeah no kidding, yesterday our bulletin at the hill literally said, "All hell has broke loose in the backcountry."  Patrollers were setting or slides by just the explosive landing on the snow, before blowing up.

Apparently there was a hill climbing contest and there were many spectators. the rumor is that there are over 200 buried.

this is incredibly devastating and I don't even have the comprehension in my mind to grasp the theory that surrounds this incident .


VIBES to anyone who is effected by this.
HOPEFULLY this is a huge exaggeration.

They pretty much signed a death sentence by attending.

you guys are exagerating with 200 people buried, taht how much were up there. I heard 100 burried, still way too much, only rumors though. I cant believe they did not cancel the event, with the avy danger that high, sledders going up a hill, and spectators at the bottom, thats a recipe for disaster, good luck too search and rescue who I think is still up there trying to fin people
