LINE AFTERBANGS

Yeah yo! I just ordered my new Line Afterbangs. Im SOOOO stoked to shred the terrain with these babies. Whats your input on these skis? Are they better for rails or jumps. How well do they work on like double black diammonds. How well do they flex. How light are they. How BO$$ ARE THEY?

I don't understand why people ask these kinds of questions after they buy the skis.
Anyway they are a good rail ski with lots of pop, don't be scared when they get crazy chipped up tho because that happens to everyone.

They are a soft, poppy, and fun rail ski, but can get a little bit sketchy on bigger jumps.  They will not handle black diamonds as well as an all mountain ski because they are 100% park specific.  However, this does not mean they won't work outside of the park because I rode 5 days of powder and steep groomers out west on them this year and they were fine.

its a line park ski.

1: fun for rails good flex for butters, etc.
2: Too soft and not good for bigger jumps
3: BRING YOUR POLES, line bases suck and cant get anywhere. ex (this year i started about 2x up the hill to just CLEAR the big air compared to everyone else

overall bad choice, but for the money not to terrible

1. Bases Suck, results in not going fast(slow)

2.Thst durable shit can kiss my ass, the different layers come apart( DELAM)

3.Extruded Bases( Dont hold wax)

4. Wood (Heavy)

5.They are poppy

6.Fun for rails

7.Not all-mountain ski

The bases are super slow which is a real pain at a midwest resort.  The weight isn't a problem though.  And it seems like the majority of kids who have afterbangs have not broken them in one season (Salomon suspects).

the afterbangs are a solid ski. Theyre really soft and destroy rails but at the same time everyone i know that has them claim that they hold up perfect on jumps. Definetly a good buy!

Friend broke his nose when he landed switch. Ski came right out from under him and smashed his face on the knuckle. They are a fun ski on rails forsure. Smalle size jumps 30-40 footers are fine. But once you get up to like 50 and 60 footers landing switch is scary.

well what do you expect. they put in an extruded base to better withstand abuse from rails. there are cost opportunities. you cant have everything. either base durability or speed. and ill go with durability in the park.

if i'm spending money on skis, i'd rather get some that wont feel like boat anchors are attached to my leg. if you're skiing rails, by all means get them, but i ski other shit, where i like to have a lighter pair of skis, makes life easier.

i like how you didnt metion at all how long you rode these skis for. newsflash spencer all skis break they are not invincible. give me a brand new pair of skis and i will make them look like that within 10 minutes. you rode those anthems last year into this year so basically a whole season. your nine lifes i can understand they broke almost as soon as you got em but getting  s season out of your park skis aint bad if you ride em every week. just sayin. and to the op anthems are way better than bangs but like written they are both cheap price point skis so yes they can be slow

newsflash jibjunkie405, all skis may all break eventually, but it's the manner in which they break that sets them apart.
when an edge pulls out from the tail of a ski, the part that has basically never has any contact with either the snow or park features, that makes it more or less a piece of shit. completely a manufacturers problem. a well put together ski would never do that.

Im not stoked on mine, there heavy and the bases refuse to hold any wax so there super slow, oh and mine became rockered in the tips after a couple weeks skiing. I guess down to doing punch fronts, but still, i wouldnt bother with them, spend a bit more and get a nice solid set of skis

well no shit it broke there, thats the most vulnerable place for an edge because the gap is simply epoxied to keep the edges together. i guarantee you that if they welded the entire edge together somehow so no gaps in the edge, that ski wouldnt have broken there. and all the other shit that is happening in the pic was cuased by the edge pulling out the wood and base with it. how that happend im not completely sure but its not like its an uncommon thing to happen for park skis

Yo the exact thing that happened to spence happened to me.....i had same model and skied on the for 20 days before they broke. and both pictures were an exact replica of how my edge also separated
