Which longboard should i get

Well it the off season for me and i was looking at two longboards and i cant decide.
I was looking at the

Loaded Dervish
Setup: Gullwing trucks, Abec 11 Bigzigs wheels, IDS OUST ABEC 7 bearings

Original Skateboards Apex 37
Setup: Original s8 trucks, Abec 11 Bigzigs, Ids OUST ABEC 7 bearings

Please help

trust me get the dervish, it is the best board made, i got a vanguard and i wish i got a dervish. the dervish just feels so right under your feet

if you want a dervish that will be decent for bombing get the stiffest flex for sure. but if you want a longboard for bombing dont get the dervish

I have a dervish and I love it, I would reccomend Paris trucks though.

what do you wanna do?

Low angle/Slow Speeds-get the original, the trucks are super turny and will be really fun on small slopes and cool little areas

Steeper hills/faster speeds-longer, stiffer board, you can get away with the stiffest flex dervish but i would advise against it cause of the price tag. I would suggest a Landyachtz or a BC board

Same question, possibly different criteria.  I'm 155 lbs., and love to carve and slide.  I'm unclear of the vague definition of "freeride" in longboarding, but I assume I probably do a good deal of it.  I'm not a speed freak (< 35 mph), but want something stable.   Choices-

Landyachtz seem the best- switch or dually for symmetrical freeride, does the drop deck profile mean I can't carve as well?
Dropcarve- for carving ma shiot (not so hot for skiding?)
9two5- new rockered board, my first choice right now

Loaded- Dervish, I expect everyone to recommend this one to me, but its pricy compared to the others and when I rode the softer version I thought it was fun, but not necesarily my best bet.  Not completely sold

Rayne- hellcat, no idea if this board is anything like what I'm looking for, anyone ridden it?

Kracked Skulls- M1, I feel like this is too stiff/DH oriented

Any others I'm missing?  Please support yourself if you do advocate the dervish

spend half the money and get a kracked skulls scimitar. it just like the dervish. I have one with yellow bigzigs on it and i love it. and you get a free t shirt

loaded pintail! carves like a dream imo, way better than the derv, maybe not as versatile but i can do everything on my pintail that i could on my 46" sector 9. its all a matter of getting used to your board i suppose. GET THE PINTAIL THOUGH.

the dervish is an incredible board, it carves so well but can handle speed depending on your flex choice. The energy return that you get back out of every carve is so rewarding. Go with the dervish. IMO

Loaded for sure. I won't ever ride any other brand. Me and my buddies all ride Loaded boards. I have the vanguard and I love it. Loaded is the way to go IMO.

IMO the dervish is a really saggy flex and is extremely over priced. you can get just as good a board for almost half of the cost.

I ride the bryant cooper eel and feel like it is extremely similar to the dervish in flex and riding characteristics.

Another awesome board is the never summer heist. It is also extremely flexy and a fantastic carving board. It also has some things extra like a reinforced nose and tail so it will not be hurt if it hits a curb.

both of these boards are extremely similiar to the dervish but a lot cheaper.

If you want to

-do some light downhill
-try board dancing

or are new to longboarding and don't know what to get

Get a Dervish

If you want to

-carve
-use board as a means of transportation
-cruise around, ride the boardwalk, chill

Get an Original

Originals are my favorite boards ever, the truck action is so smooth its almost more like snowboarding than skateboarding. However, you CANNOT really do any downhill on them as the nature of the trucks makes them pretty sketch at speed.

Basically if you don't have a car and want a way to get around, I would get the Original. Cruising around town on those boards is a complete riot. But, if you do have a car, and you are going to use your board more for like "oh brah lets go longboard, bomb some hills, jeaaaaa", just when you want to go longboarding, I would get the Dervish.

Dervish is one of the coolest decks money can buy, but an Original is like no other (for better or for worse). I know many people who hate my Original and will not ride it because of the trucks.

the apex 37 is like sold out all over last time i checked. also bustinboards makes some sick boards and you can custom design your own board too

I have the neversummer heist. it is so flexy and fun. its set up with bear grizzly trucks and otang durians. trucks are great. wheels are super slick great wheel to learn with but to slick to bomb hills with. heist handles pretty well bombing. if you weigh to much it might get a little saggy but it's ok. price is way cheaper then the dervish to. go with the heist.

you should think about the neversummer heist. i have it with landyatchz bear grizzlies and otang durians. trucks are amazing. wheels are great for sliding but to slick for bombing hills. heist is the funnest flexy board i have ever rode. if you weigh over 175 to 180 i wouldnt get it because its to flexy and might sag after a little bit. you should get the heist for sure.
