The idea was thrown around in a thread in SG earlier...here's an edited version of my post from that thread.
Presently, toprated is dominated by RIP videos. I'm all for remembering some legends, and showing respect, but personally, I look to Top Rated as the "pulse" of what's happening in skiing over the past week or so. It seems that some of these timeless videos of our fallen heroes—and classic edits that eventually fall off of page 1 and spiral into obscurity in a matter of weeks—would be better served in a new video section. A Hall of Fame section would allow us to relive Gallant's Death, Creedman's Chad rendezvous, and eheath's promo forever and ever.
Creating this new section would make sure that top rated would stay fresh and current. The top rated hall of fame could be made up of videos with maybe 5000+ views and a rating of 9 or better with some sort of minimum number of ratings. The hall of fame should be sortable by date.
Also, I wish the video search feature worked a bit better...I struggle to rundown videos quite a bit. I also wish people did a better job tagging videos. EVERY video should be tagged with the riders, the filmer, location filmed at, song used, and the year...it would make browsing way better, and knock down the 15 "what park is that and what song is that" comments.
