So i bought these skis from cbrady a few weeks back, and when i bought them, they were pretty beat, a couple edge cracks, kinda dull edges, few inches of missing edge, lots of sticker residue on the topsheets, and the normal, topsheet chips. But i bought these, try and fix them up. so what i did is as follows:
Cleaned up the top-sheets of the sticker residue, and sort of patched MOST of the chips, but i think they looks a million times better.
Replaced the edge that was missing, (not perfect, but should hold)
Cleaned the bases alot, filled the marks that needed to be filled, and just some general tuning.
I also tore into a spot that was really f-ed up, was coming out, bent up, and cracked, so i decided to tear into them, but i hadn't noticed the other crack, so that caused more edge to come out than i had planned, so thats kinda were i left this project, so that will be coming with the ski. However, its totally ready for edge replacement, the base material has been cut away, and i have cleaned it, so its level, so all you need to do is glue in the edge and base material, and this is the point where this might be considered an unusual deal, becuase, i have the materials needed to fix the edge, everything, but the edge, so i will include:
Enough base material to fix the hole
Epoxy (waterproof, sets in 60 minutes)
Steel wool (for reinforcement)
and the couple edge screws i have.
So all you need to do, is get about 6-8 inches of edge (around $12) and some p-tex.
Also, if you need it, i will gladly refer you to sites that will describe how to fix edge, and try my best to guide you how to fix it. Honsetly, what you have to do these skis, is minimal, the hard part has been done.
But a little info on the ski, its a 2007 dumont with the mis-matched graphics, mounted with FKS (dont know the BSL) at center, or "Simon Stance". And since its only been mounted once, there is plenty of pop!
I dont have any pictures of it now, but i will get some later today or tomorrow. (sorry, but im at school, and i always forget to post these up, when im at home, i know i shouldn't post with out pics, but i promise to get some pics, very soon)
Uh, thats about it, i was hoping to get around 70-80+ shipping, i think thats fair, with the amount of work that i have put into them.
Help me get touring gear!!!
