K2 Revival, or Salomon 2012

I've narrowed my ski choice for next year down to these two skis, and im wondering which to get. I ski pretty much all park but still want a solid ski at high speeds. any suggestions would be greatsalomon_9.jpg

Revivals suck. Was able to demo a pair the other day. Ride just like extremes but with a lil rocker, are not poppy at all and feel like dead weight on ur feet.

well considering none of the skis came out yet no one really knows. But I'm pretty stoked on the k2 domain, looks awesome

thats the same reaction that springs4life had about them.

on the other hand, the 2012s were so nice, defiantly the favorite park ski that that everyone demoed (including me)

2012's were one of the worst skis ive had on my feet.... go with the revivals. Alot more poppy,playful, and solid at highspeeds

I have only skied them on hard ass icey snow and they love that shit. Triaxial braiding keeps them stiff underfoot and able to resist twisting in the midst of a hard snow turn.

i don't know who to believe!
I've heard really good things about the 2012s, and they're rated #1 in a park test. i have the extremes (08/09) and they are super heavy and super stiff, not at all playful. if the revivals are anything like them they'll be an all mountain twin.

I'm pretty sure the suspect was rated highly in park tests too. But, yeah...

check out the k2 ski that replaces the disorderly, I forgot the name. Or maybe the ar7

Revivals! K2 skis hold up so much better than salomons do. i have ridden multiple pairs of both, K2's last about 5 times longer.

Revival is a brand new ski from what the Extreme was. This ski has a bi-directional sidecut now which is also moved forward, the new Twin Tech top construction and Jib Rocker. Completely flat with a mini lift tip and tail. Sick.

i have been on both or these ski's. 3 runs on each, 2 laps in the park 2 in steeper gnarly terrain these skis are not meant to be skied in. the revivals we're awesome for what they are made for a competition park ski, super stable on take offs and landings, the bigger the jumps the better with these i find, i wouldn't call these skis stiff the have a constent firm flex through the whole ski, not washy at all with the rocker, i found it easier to lock into butters and managed to lock into a decent tail press, i could even tell was pressed. super stoked on these skis, also they handled awesome for a park ski in the steeper stuff, i would ski them everywhere. k2 really does have rocker figured out for next year.

onto the salomons, i have read many good reviews on this ski i agree with most of them on there ski-ability... but i'll leave it at this, there is a salomon rep out there with a demo with 2 edge cracks after 2 park laps.

it seems really hit or miss with salomon. so far my suspects have held up better than my armadas, which are supposed to be bombproof.

either way, salomon needs to step up their edges. seriously, its not that hard to through on some burly as hell edges that stand up better than what they have now. Because in my opinion salomon skis ski awesome.

wow thats wild. Since salomon got rid of the ten eighty series I have not met a single person that has beens atisfied wit their suspects or dumonts. I have a friend that went through four pairs in a month.

 pretty hard choice. The revivals are better in the park at least in terms of consistency, but aren't nearly as fun as the 2012's. Personally i'd take the 2012s but the revivals are sick too

the revival is better for all-mountain since the ski is wider underfoot, and the shovel is wider.

I was planning on buying the 2012 but my local shop ran out on them, the owner sayed that thhe revivals where a good replacement, He said that he liked them better because they have less rocker and are a bit stiffer. are they playfull or not so i can do butters with them and ollie? and can they also be used in pow?Should i wait till they have the 2012 in store or should i get the revivals, the revivals are cheeper

advice is really apreciated

Same man, the domains are skick, i got them because my shop didnt have neither the 2012 or revivals left and i dont regret my choice

Domains are fun, but I found it was really hard to carve with them and the tail caught alot, their really fun for nollies and on jumps though.

I have them and carved groomers Monday when it was -30 (aka bulletproof snow) and they were awesome. I love symetrical skis and the rocker is awesome!

Yes , I also thought it was harder to carve on them but i was used to race skis on real snow, But if I take my old Kung fujas (which i have never riddn on real snow) these really carve good

I found the tail would catch every time you went to turn, carving is way easier on the 2012s

i haven't tried the 2012's but i have the revivals and i love them! there great amazing in the  park and suprisingly you can still stay afloat in powder with not that much effort. i was truely amazed though when it came down to high speeds. they felt like cruise missles on my feet and turning was no problem. i would recomend them to anyone!

i still love my revivals. ive put them through some serious beatings and skied them for almost 2 seasons. BAMF skis. also in the spring, the rocker in them makes slushy conditions maaad fun.

definetly dont get the suspects. they chip easy. it almost seems like whenever you mute grab or wizard trick on a rail a giant chunk comes off of the top sheet.
