Ok so, i had been wanting to do a flip on skis forever and I was telling my friend and he can do a flip on the ground(I can't) andhe said that you have to be able to do one the ground (and it's easier) in order to do one on skis. Your opinions: do you have to be able to do a flip on the ground to do on skis.? If you can do a flip on skis, can you do one on the ground( for those who can flip on skis). Finally which is easier? this is referring to front flips. I've managed to land one on skis and still can't do one on the ground.
Thanks
i dont think ive seen anyone ever actually land a front flip from just standing on the ground. ive seen back flips but never fronts. and No you dont have to be able to do em on the ground.
they are so much easier on skis thank on the ground and i could do them on the ground before i could on skis but i had never tried them on skis...as long as your comfortable itll be easy
Id say being able to do them on trampoline is a +++++ just to understand how your body will execute the flip. Having to do them on the ground? Thats a bit too much if you ask me... I can backflip of picnic tables but I don't think it helped me when I did it for the first time on skis. Learn them on trampoline and your good to go.
I learned em on skis before the ground. Defnatly way easier. Backflips won't let you down too. Frontflips are easier to throw but harder to land em well in my opinion.
I can't do any flips on the ground, just off of stuff and honestly it's sooo much different on skis. And frontflips are way easier than backs, think about doing a gainer into a swimming pool vs. a frontflip...
dude there are a ton of vids on the internet of people doing fronts on flat, but about the question you don't have to be able to do them on the ground just be able to do them on trampolines and it will feel almost exactly the same on skis atleast a backflip that is

I am way to scared to flip on ground but I Have no problem doing one skis.... The jump sets the spin and u have waaayyyy more hang time so it's a ton easier to bring around
Backs and lincolns off the ground are far easier than fronts, you have to run into a front off the ground unless youre nutty as fuck. And no, straight up flips are a lot easier on skis.
