Downloading from vimeo

i've downloaded a good amount of vids from vimeo but recently, every time i move them into itunes they are really slow and skip around but i can watch them fine through quicktime. i didn't change the way i downloaded the videos, and my computer has a good amount of room on it so it's not because my hard drive is too full. anyone know whats going on? i'm on a mac if that helps.

and the reason i'm downloading them is so i can move them into imovie and play around with some editing because i don't usually edit the footy and i want to start in imovie before a get final cut.
