Jobs that allow you to live anywhere?

So I have been thinking a lot lately about what I want to do with my life.

I would love to live in a remote area of Montana, with a small house, a dog, and not a person for a few miles.

Are there any jobs that can allow you to live in a geographic area of choice as long as its cheap and physically possible.

I will have a degree in 3/4 years, but will do anything if it allows me to live life the way I want to.

you should just work for logging / mining / energy company in Montana, there will be tons, and they will pay you well.

If you're looking for serious work the get a course in a trade and you should be able to find somthing in most places. but if you want something casual get your bar lisence/gameing lisence (gambling/TAB) or barister and you will be able to get a job  no probs.

thanks for serious answers guys and gals. For those that werent, you get the idea. As of right now, the most realistic thing seems to be working in a career field, and saving in an intelligent manner until I can retire.

I know a couple people who play online poker and make BANK. I know one guy that pulls in about $900 a month, but it is not even his job. He just plays a little between his regular job and growing weed and shit and pretty much just gets his rent with poker money every month.

I also know one guy has had years where he makes $50,000-$100,000. That guy only plays poker and is one of the top ranked Full Tilt players in the world though.


Also to whoever posted Grizzly Man, lol. That guy got eaten. Fucking bears.

^ I'm heading there. Been playing online more and more. Paid for my festivals and shows almost completely off poker winnings. Some slanging in there, but the majority was poker. I'm growing too trust online enough to throw more money on slowly. I'm still a cash game man.

read bode miller's biography, he grew up in a very remote area. I forget exactly what his parents did so you'll have to read it for yourself. it's sweet book anyhow.

Yeah the problem with online poker is that it is pretty easy for a bunch of friends to all play the same table and cheat (I know because I do it sometimes lulzzzzzzzz). The good thing though is that most people online generally aren't very good. IMO the way to go is to just buy into those fairly cheap rebuy tournaments. The cash tables are too finiky.

I don't really play online poker though, I'm more of a casino blackjack guy myself. I make pretty ok money doing that though. Bought myself a season pass and some gear this year after a particularly hot weekend.

PROTIP: Lots of people don't bother learning to count cards because the way casinos deal now makes it pretty much obsolete. However, there area few casinos in Tahoe that play single deck blackjack. Would have cleaned those places out except it was my 21st birthday and I had no idea what was going on hahaha.

Also, in case anyone else plays blackjack, check this shit out, got it on 4chan, pretty cool.

Unless your counting cards, black jack is a horrible way to try to make money. Counting cards take a ton of time, and it's kind of sketchy.


Poker is easy money for me. I play the people not the cards. After a few hands you start to figure out how everyone plays. You know what peoples weaknesses are. So much fun too. Monday nights is my most consistent game. We play 3-6 games  a night. I made a reputation as being extremely loose there. So when people start to call on anything, i just tighten up. Play 10 hands the same way, or the same hand 10 different ways. If you mix it up and read people well it's easy money. theres always gonna be nights where you get fucked over by idiots getting lucky, but it happens.

Such a fun game though

^ Oh yeah I'm just a lucky son of a bitch. I come home at a loss like 1/6 times. My biggest loss ever was $50. Granted my biggest win ever was only like $400 but not bad for a couple hours. I usually double my money. I'm knocking on wood as I type this.

Word. I just don't like the risk. I've never played the lotto other than some quick draw at the bar a couple times. For me with poker, I expect to win. I do what I need to to come out ahead. Sometimes the cards and shitty peoples luck fucks you over, but for the most part it's all good.

Mon night was the 5th week straight I won more than 50$ in poker. Considering the last 5 weekes it's only been 10 buy ins(my buddy got robber) and we've only been playing 2 games, 3 once or twice

internet business seems like the best option.

i also like this idea of living anywhere.  i don't want a regular life.  fuck bbqs and ball games and a fucking mortgage and a dumb wife that wants this certain kind of lawn furniture.

Telecommunications could be a good way. For example I have some homies outta college that work for a solar company. They talk to installers that are layin down the panels on rich folks homes across the nation as they look at the proper grid setup on the computer. They both have offices(guppy cubicles), but also plan on living on acreage, out here in northern california. You could do something like this outta your home though if you find the right company/business. Oh and yeah they stay breaded.
