Sticky potential- Concerning all Ex. A vs. Ex. B What Ski Threads- a suggestion

I feel like lately, and for a few years now that the Gear Talk forum has been overloaded with threads like "abangs vs. reno jibs" and Ect. So i'm going to make a few suggestions...

This is a site that has a GREAT review section, which usually entails everything that you will need to find out about a certain set of skis that you're curious about, and include a lot of questionable material for instance
-Overall
-Performance
-Design
-Fit
-Characteristics
-Durability


To review skis go under the Community tab and it says Gear Reviews
-Then type in the search for both skis that you want to know about, read multiple reviews for each, that contain different opinions, from different people, with different riding styles, and varies with where they ride.
-Either pull up both pages and do a side by side review on your computer or make a list of pros and cons on paper and then decide.
-If there is not a review on a certain ski, or you're not completely satisfied with what you learned then post a thread on the Gear Talk Forum


-Also, and i hate to say this again, but Searchbar these threads as well. People have probably asked before you did.

I think that this could drastically cut down on pointless threads in gear talk, and put more use to the great gear reviews that people take time to write in the gear reviews section.

Try not to bash me too hard, and try to stay positive, im just looking for feedback for the idea

Yes! People put a lot of time and effort into the reviews they write over there. (Well at least I did.)

People who write reviews over there also tend to post threads with the contents of their review, so searchbar and you shall receive.

The reason I post This ski vs that ski is because most of the time I use my iPod with the ns app. The app doesn't have a searchbar or gear reviews

im gonna throw it out there, i have no idea if this is any percent true but just guessing that within in the next 6 months there will be a new version (i have an iphone as well) although the version now is sick for a start!

"2. asking for blanket statements is not good. ask to compare/contrast models. in general, people offering their opinion are not helpful, but people contrasting models attributes are much more helpful."

I see where you are coming from, and think reviews are great.  But once you have it narrowed down to 2 or 3 skis, the descriptions are all going to sound the same because of how similar the skis are.  "slays pow" "stiff as ron jeremy on viagra" blah blah blah.

When looking for a pair of sticks, dude should read every review on the website FIRST...then ask for a comparison.  This way, if somebody on NS has skied both sticks, they can tell you what little nuances that make the 'Ski A' stand out against 'Ski B.'
