Just spent last week at smuggs, great tree skiing not the place for park though. The slopes were pretty empty during the week. Fri Sat Sun got a little crowded but because of the slow double chair lifts, all the people are on line and not on the trails. It looks more crowded than it is because of this. The smaller park where I spent my time was pretty beat. A couple boxes, two kickers, some barrels and one flat rail. It got kinda packed and no one wanted to wait to drop in, so 10 ski schoolers were hittin jumps at once. The bigger park was closed most the week I was there for grooming.
Tree skiing was great, I def recommend skiers left on blackhole, robin's run and shakedown (all easy to find on trail maps). Tons of fresh to be had, even some nice sidecountry if you dont mind a little hike.
As far as the green scene, I showed up fully supplied so I dunno about finding it up there. Locals were friendly and def didn't mind me stinkin so good
enjoy
thanks freestylefarr, been on the forums a while finally decided to make a login.
I agree with you on the borders, not worth the risk. Wish I could give you a solid contact up there. Its a real family mountain and all the lifties seemed retired so finding bud at the resort might be a bit tough. Vermont loves it's bud so I'm sure it wouldn't be impossible... Just a heads up cause I wish I realized, Stowe gets a little bit younger crowd and has a better park. Heading over there for a day might be worth your while
word, uknow around hot long of a drive it is to stowe?
and hopefully the bigger park will be opened while were there, i coudlnt see them closin it for march break
if anybody cares we did end up getting a little bit of footy, park wasnt very big though and not much shit was setup. ontop of that the t-bar wasnt running which left us hiking jumps all day. my cousin panchuck is skiing and im filming
