I can't believe Tanner even took the time to post in this thread full of morons. Much respect for that, biggest inspirational skier of our generation, and all of these new members find it hilarious... NS has really become a huge disappoint to me in the past year.

I won't deny Tanner has done some great stuff for skiing over the years. He is who he his, however he spells like my grade 10, mostly illiterate, inner city, wanna-be-gangster students who spend their welfare money on substance addictions. I sympathize and understand where they are coming from, but as a professional athlete, I expect better from Tanner. Hate away.

Not putting Tanner Hall on a pedestal does not equate hate. Tanner Hall is not the only skier that revolutionized skiing. If anyone should get a documentary it should be McConkey, or Warren Miller. Tanner is still in his 20's and that is why he is being called egocentric.

McConkey has his own documentary. Warren Miller has like 30+ movies with his name on it, essentially documenting his whole skiing/travel career.

Obviously T-Hall is not the only skier that revolutionized skiing. But, he is ONE of the skiers that revolutionized skiing and I am super stoked to watch this movie.

I know that Tanner is still young, and his impact on the sport is not "over" but that doesn't mean we can't get a documentary now. What else is he supposed to do while he recovers?

If you guys don't want to watch it, then don't. Please don't insult one of my childhood heros though.

there's also a short film/documentary filmed with shane, his wife, and daughter, which was shot 5 days before he died...

there was a version that screened during X-Dance last year and it got 2nd place in the open category - it's coming out this fall as part of the ski channel movie tour

people who you are shit talking about do read it on ns. Talking trash about Tanner and his movie is really disrespectful I dont see you out there putting your own money into a ski film. It took a ton of time, money and hard work for Tanner, Iberg, Shane and who ever else worked on this film, to bad mouth it is plane rude.

Show some respect for someone who is trying to make a difference in the ski world and show his side of the story just how it is. If you dont like that film thats fine but to just shit talk for the hell of it is just childish.

You don't have to be old to progress a sport. Tanner won x games at 15 and continued to kill it all the way, through his setbacks and injuries. He's done so much for skiing and is a legend to all of us. Thanks T-Hall

the thing which is really hard for me is how people can hate on T when he's telling the truth and his story and not just showing the good side of his career like people does in documentary.
i know tanner really well and he dedicated his life to ski and like a lion is for myself one of the greatest movie i've seen

I've also been off NS.com for quite a while and am kind of caught off guard by what I see in here.

First, minimizing anyone's accomplishments, failures, hardships and advantages/disadvantages, etc..., isn't a good practice. I completely feel what people have to say about Tanner and what he's done since we all got to know what we've to come to know about him - even though we really don't know shit about him. All we know is what's been shown to us.

Tanner, I respect you stepping up as a man to be honest and open about all the aforementioned in your life for all of us. You've taken ownership of your life and that's certainly no easy task.

Consider this people - think about all the ridiculous phases you've gone through in your life (including the one you're in). Think about all the special people in your life and the privilege and hardship you have in your life. That documentary is Tanner's and it is what is. I see the value in it, but you have to look for it. On that note - thanks T.

I saw Like a Lion last night and...(caps for tanner) it was FUCKING AWESOME! I laughed, cried, shit my pants, and went CHEA like 47 times. Then right after went up to Tanner and Eric and thanked them, gave props (but not that guy-like) and walked away saying "fuck yeah"and to all the little shithead NS'ers that spread hate...I want to staple your hoodies that hang to you knee's between your legs so it looks like a diaper and also on another note your mother should of swallowed you...in a non hate way though

Bumsteeze, you have the "using religion" concept a little twisted. By your definition Bob Marley would be a shitty rastafarian because he made money. Marley used the money he made to make other people happy. He did things like hold concerts, on his own dime, in places that would never turn a profit. Tanner tries his very best to make us skiers happy. He does things like take a substantial pay cut to start Armada so we could have the best skis possible, and give promising amateur ski movie makers a good wad of cash to get themselves started. And, damn, at the most basic level by getting kids off the fuckin couch to just be active. You come across kind of racist bumsteeze, do you think all rastafarians have to be born poor and stay poor to keep their cultural identity?

Plus, if anyone on here ever gets a desk job you will realize that Tanner's rather excessive rating about skiing's awesomeness goes deeper than pow > park. You will realize it has a lot more to do with the fact that when you are skiing down the hill you are, sadly, more free than you will ever be the rest of your modern adult life.

Also, bumsteeze, you have the chad's, pyramid thing a little twisted too since Tanner Switch 9ed pyramid also that year.

I don't blame the young kids on here for not realizing how much Tanner has done for skiing, I just feel sorry for them.

P.s. kids who complain about all caps typing come across as computer nerds.

This is the best ski documentary I've seen. Anyone who talks shit on Tanner at least needs to watch it and hear out his story. If you talk shit on Tanner your disrespecting skiing as far as I'm concerned. If you want to buy a movie that has more shelf life than any other ski film to date, buy this movie!

I know all about There's Something About McConkey. Shane's contributions to skiing since then have been remarkable since then (The Spatula, Ski-base jumping, the Pontoon, etc) have changed the entire direction of skiing once again.

I'm not hating on Tanner. I own his other movies. I will probably buy this one. I will probably enjoy it. That doesn't change my views on his grammar and it doesn't change the fact that I don't think a twenty year old should have a documentary while he is still alive and successful.
