well his career is kind of winding down and he probably won't be able to perform at a very high level in the future due to his recent injury so why shouldn't he make a documentary now versus one in 10 years? stoked its directed by eric iberg though.

dumb, yes.  self-righteous, yes.  he invests in real estate...that is soooooo rasta.

aahhh the trials and tribulations of getting kicked out of school on your own accord, and your parents having the money to send you to a ski academy to race moguls.  what a struggle! 

people should remember that he was a wigger long before going rasta...the irony is the fact that the two lifestyles have very contradictory lifestyles.  whatever the trend is i suppose.

instead of an egocentric biography of himself (and his "struggles"...cause skiing, and getting paid for it, is so hard on people), iberg should quit suckin tanner's balls and make a documentary of the "revolution" of skiing over the past 15 years, and how tanner was an essential part of that growth (although more than anything he appealed to rich kids who want to feel "hard" by listening to rap music, and thus constitute a huge market for companies to sell products and get the parents' money).

the fact that he creates movies to attain revenue for himself is against the rasta ethic to begin with.  how genuine.

Wow where to start..

1. Fuck you
2. Tanner Hall is one of the reasons that you are in the park whether you like it or not and freeride skiing as well as this site would not be nearly as developed without his input
3. You think Tanner was a "wigger"... watch some top rated edits, and who cares anyway, he was doing harder shot than anyone in skiing he can dress how the fuck he wants
4. Tanner has been humbled by injuries and loss and his religious views probably reflect that and are irrelevent to his skiing
5. Im pretty sure Tanner isnt going to get paid much for this documentary so its not like he doing it for the money he just reflecting on a long and inspirational career which im sure most of the ski community wants to hear about
6. Get some fuckin respect, tanner will crush you on any mountain any day

1.  i was in the park regardless of tanner's input in order to develop myself as a well-rounded skier. in fact i was riding park before the twin-tip ski emerged.
2.  saying he was doing harder shit than anyone in skiing at the time is incredibly blind (save switch hit on chad's...but then again pep, sage, and mahre hit pyramid switch around the same time which i might add has a more technical inrun than chad's anyway. i dont expect you to know this however)...he certainly wasn't pushing switch pow riding which many consider to be the most technical aspect of riding. plus everyone has their own flavor of riding so stating he was doing harder shit than anyone else is simply dumb.
3.  being talented at something has no justification for emulating a certain culture in which he has no relation.
4.  humbled by injuries has no association with the ethos of rastafari which is basically sustainability of one's self and living within one's own means...the fact that rastafari is used as a marketing campaign is incredibly sacreligious...i already mentioned he invests in real estate and owns a $200,000 house. in addition, you said it yourself: "religious views are irrelevant to skiing."  thus they should not be used to create identities within skiing.
5.  if u were not such a dumbshit, you'd realize i was in fact giving tanner respect by referencing his "essential role in the revolution of skiing over the past 15 years." that does not negate the fact that he is self-righteous.  try to be smart and realize you dont have to lump everything into one category versus another. unfortunately people are too wrapped up in sucking his balls to think critically about the matter.
6.  it does not matter how much he is paid, the fact of the matter is that he is using rastafari as a marketing tool for his means of income.  sacreligious once again.
7.  anyone who really wants to be informed about his career development does not need a biography to learn such things.
8.  whether in park or actual skiing, there are tons of riders who are nearly as good as him (might i say he doesnt really stack up at all in "mountain" riding to which you refer), yes he is good at tricking off pillows, but then again none of his pillow lines were difficult in the first place).  more than anything he was in the right place at the right time as freeskiing was really gaining momentum, and before the pro-rider market was saturated with so many talented skiers.  i should add you dont know me whatsoever, so dont fuckin claim he can crush me on any mountain any day.  seriously, fuck you for saying such ignorance.

not negativity bud.  as i said people need not lump things into two categories: positive and negative.  i prefer to use "rational skepticism".

wow.  i knew cr as well, ofcourse not nearly as well as you, tanner.  he was a super nice guy, very humble unlike other pros in times past. i guess as long as you can learn from your mistakes.

nevertheless, i dont dig rastafari as a marketing ploy.  then again whatever sells, which seems to be americans' true religion.
