Editing to glitch music

I am always looking to expand and progress my filmmaking by trying new things, so I figured I would give tight, glitchy editing a shot...

Felt it was edited to much I wanted to see more raw skiing footage then all these effects, Still sick though.

The idea was to kind of over-edit it to match the music, which is everywhere, yet still slightly followable at the same time.

I think it turned out amazing, the editing was spot on with the music. It's fresh for sure I hope to see more edits like this, it's nice to see some different editing styles.

man i miss trinity haha.  i think you acheived what you're were going for and it came out pretty sick.  obviously it was just one feature in what im guessing was just a short time so where as a regular edit might have seemed boring this kind of made it more interesting.  good stuff man, i like how you're trying new stuff

Felt it was a bit over edited like said above. It's kinda a pet peeve of mine when people show a shot of like an inrun and then cut back and you watch it again. I know you were just going for glitchy quick cuts but I don't know just my opinion.

I liked what you were doing but alot of things were kinda hard to follow.

i think that kind of editing style works better with bigger features, but i think if there were some it would have been an amazing fucking edit!

Sweet edit, sick track. Maybe try editing shots even closer to all the little glitches and stuff in excision (i think). So it kinda looks like the musics controlling the skiing if you get me.

^ I think the cuts are a fraction off because of the streaming. I can make it available for download to see it more on-time if you would like.


As for the over-editing for the size of the feature- the reason I experimented with a new editing technique was because it was pretty much an afternoon in the backyard and we weren't really looking to make a big project, so we came up with the idea to try some glitch stuff.


Thank you all for the comments, it helps a lot!


Now, I'm wondering what we should try next. Would you like to see another project like this on a bigger scale (actual park, jumps, etc.), or would you like to see another experiment? Something smoother? Different music than the traditional hip/hop and rap?

awesome man, editing was perfect, altho i kinda wish there was a little bit more raw footage slowed down of him hitting the rail to see th full trick between glitches. oh, and btw, i <3 your camera
